I bought this Denon D-08 in 1995, paid $ 800 at the time, still have it. After 22 years, the sound is still fantastic! Whenever it will breakdown, ( i dont see when ), i will probably get the Denon-M40

This system is about 5 years old, retailed for about $399, and was available through an online warehouse as a manufacturer-refurbished model with a limited warranty.The sound is fantastic for a system this size, especially considering the small stock speakers. You do have to toggle the "SDB" setting for the extra bass or it can sound a little weak.
The only thing I'm not wild about is the kinda cheesy release for the cassette deck doors. I can live with it.
I recommend this system highly.
