This isn't a mini-system, it's a MICRO-system! The whole thing can fit into a large shoe box. But damn! can it pack in the sound. It has AM/FM/CD no tape deck (which may turn some people off, but it's perfect for my needs). It has sleep mode up to 120 minutes. The alarm function can wake you up with tuner or CD and at a specified volume (which means you can go to sleep with soft music, but have it wake you up with something a little louder). And when it wakes you up the volume comes up gradually so it gently lifts you from sleep rather than the typical jarring crash of noise. The CD player does ramdom, repeat or 20 track program. With 15w per channel, you get a full-bodied range of tone with crisp clean highs and an unbelievably rich bass from these little ported cherry wood speakers (magnetically shielded so I can put it next to my computer). And if that's not enough bass or if you're trying to fill a larger room, there's a sub-woofer output jack. I listened to one of these little beauties in a large showroom with a 100w powered sub hooked up and it was very impressive. It's got aux RCA in/out so you can connect to a tape deck or other device (I've got my aux in coming from my compter). It's even got a digital connection port which allows you to connect via fiber optic cable to a digital recording device. I've got mine in a room about 10'x18' and it fills the whole room with full beautiful sound. The backlit LED display can be dimmed at night and it comes with a full function remote. It goes for about $350 which seems like a good chunk of money for such a tiny little thing, but it's packed full or features, has seriously unbelievable sound, is upgradable (sub out), and looks very classy besides. Take a look for yourself, I've posted a picture of it which I found on some German site, so far the US JVC site doesn't have any info on this, but I'm sure we'll be seeing more of this little dynamo.
