Strength:
Enough power to drive Mission bookshelf speakers.Remotes for both units.
Weakness:
Uninteresting in comparison. (I also hv a tube amp w/ ProAC speakers in or home as the main system) , but after all the previous is a mini system. Good little HiFi. I got this for my son. Also the matching unit for recording mini cd. Both units together, cost me total $450 in HongKong. |

Strength:
Not bad for value... it has the Marantz name afterall. Certainly beats a Sony mini hifi.
Weakness:
Can't quite compare to a proper hifi system. Bass is woolly and the treble is coarse. Much better than even the highend Sony mini hifis. For the price, get this! U won't regret it! Similar Products Used: Sony FH-E9X |

Strength:
It's small size. The combination CD and receiver is an ideal for convienience and looks. It's all metal. It sounds superb.
Weakness:
None It's a small unit that looks good in a room. No rats nest of wire in the back. 30 watts per channel is more than enough to fill my house with sound. I'm 47 years old, not 19 any more, and don't want a big black plastic piece of junk that pumps out 150 watts. Similar Products Used: Over the years Yamaha, Marantz, Proton, Boston Acoustics, etc |

So I bought it finally, after a bit of hesitating, because one must be brave to buy a system without any tone controls (exept a bass knob), but, surprisingly, the sound is really good, so there is no necessity for that. The unit offers a lot of comfort (RDS, timer, fully capable RC). Since the sound is slightly overbassed i strongly recomend to fit the right loudspeakers. My older BOSE AM 5 seems to be a good match, because I can move the subwoofer to fine-tune the sound. In my opinion it is a very good value for the money. |

Really a great little do all box. CD player, tuner, integrated amp, remote control, aux ins and outs. Tone controls are lacking. It is a little bassy, almost a welcome break from how mass market(Sony) stuff sounds. Paid $450 for mine. Paired w/B&W Dm302's ($250)speakers. Not an ideal match as these speakers are a little bass heavy. Good CD section, NAD type of warm sound. Great on Jazz. Tuner section requires good antenae to lock on and still does not pick up as many stations as my car in same location. Should be compared to the new NAD lifestyle product B4 buying. A no brainer for office, dorm or 2 channel a/v setup. |
