When I bought this system about a year ago, I was lured by all of the neat features. I didn't really know what it would sound like, but I am a Panasonic fan for no matter what they make. After I got it all hooked up in my room, I turned it on and it did all of its neat things. I noticed when I put in a CD it was a little loud but it hasn't failed me yet. I pushed play and turned up the volume and for a cheaper mini system it sounded great. I really love the tape deck and the amplifier. It hasn't had an ounce of problems since I got it and I hope to have it for a long time. |

Overall a good system. The weakest link however is the pair of speakers. Being a speaker nut, I just had to take them apart. There was a very large and gangly grill over both the drivers. Also, there was some kind of deflection shield right in front of the tweeters. Supposedly, they spread out the sound. Take them off and they will sound a tad more like normal speakers. I actually like the little 4" woofer they have. The tweeter needs to be replaced. I put in some piezoelectric tweeters in that are a little more sensitive than the woofer, but they are a hundred times better than the stock pair. i also installed a 6db crossover in them after discovering the crossover was nothing more than a 2.2 mfd cap in line with the tweet. I also put some damping material in them, because they didnt come with any at all. To truly hear the best the speakers can offer, remove all the plastic garbage covering them! |
