Strength:
great bass, crispness, stylish and downright awesome!
Weakness:
slightly slower at changing disk than prefered but thats why it can hold 5cds! This is a great sounding system with brilliant bass and sound crispness, for all those stupid people who have said that they have changed the speakers ect.. you have to use the 3D equalizer which you can change the crispness on, this stereo is awesome and when this baby is turned up fully it shakes the house Literally! Oh yeah don't write in saying it's rubbish because you should learn how to use it first because only people with a bit of Intellectual brain power can operate it!!! |

Strength:
Excellent sound and look
Weakness:
Slow CD changer This is a great system, with a variety of EQ settings to suit just about every music style. I listen to a lot or rap/hip-hop and r&b music and the sound is loud and clear when it needs to be. The only drawback is that the CD changer is a little slow in switching from one disk to another. It's also very noisy. But this is nothing major. Highly recommended. |

Strength:
price power
Weakness:
the sound Although it came out as one of the best systems in several tests, I didn't like the sound. No way to have a "crystal clear" sound. And believe me,I tried everything, even other speakers. I sold it last week to buy a "full" system. Similar Products Used: none |

The Panasonic SC-AK47 is a Mini System that is anything but "Mini". The first thing that attracts you to this giant "Mini" System is it's size and incredible sense of style. It has a 5-Disc-CD-Changer which has multiple playback modes. It also has dual cassette decks that are run by digital controls. It also has a digital AM/FM tuner that supports multiple station presets. Now let me get to the really cool part! It has It has about 10 EQ settings that give the effects of a concert hall and a live concert, to name a few. The first thing I noticed when I turned it on was the MASSIVE "Super" Woofers(perfect for playing Hip Hop or somthing else with a good beat). It is the best mini system that I have ever used or heard. It rules! |

I needed a system that I can bring to school, because my real system (B&W CDM1s, Rotel RA970, Velodyne CT100, etc,) is too expensive and too risky to have in college. I listen to mostly Rock/Popular/Hip Hop music and some Classical. I wanted something to play loud, clear and have great bass (don't we all?) and still be considered to be my "garbage" system. I looked at several models, including the Sony MHC-F150, Aiwa NSX-A888, JVC MX-J50, and Panasonic SC-AK47. I really would like to have the Sony's, but they are too expensive for what I have to spend ($300, while the other three I can get at cost for about $220) Eighty dollar doesn't sound like much, but right now, every dollar counts. Also, the Sony's have a very harsh sound tweeter, amplified by the DBFB bass boast (Isn't bass boast supposed to only boast bass?) I haven't tried the Aiwa and I now am trying the JVCs. The Panasonics sound good and have a bunch of really nice functions. I really wanted to keep it but the bass quality really sucked. Not only was it very distorted, it couldn't play mid bass. Having the the Super Woofer on only boosted frequencies above 90 Hertz. Bass guitar was missing and the only thing you heard (and heard very easily) was the kick drum. But the fundamentals weren't there. Playing Titanic's first track, revealed that it couldn't play the deep synthesizer note. While it is true that it is only a mini system, mostly expensive mini systems took a better stab at it than the Panasonics which didn't even play the fundamental at all. Worthless measurements such as -10 dB at 55 Hz and -16 dB at 46 Hz are stated in the manual. Those levels are so low relative to the rest of the frequency band it is worthless to even know that! The rest of the audio spectrum was good for a mini system, but nothing, of course, that you can consider "high end". Overall, not really bad, especially if you don't need mid to low bass. |

I have just brought this mini-system and all I have to say is that it is very good. There are only two things I didn't like: one was the price, and the other is that the cd changer makes a lot of noise. It have a beautiful display, a lot of equalizations and the tape's recorder is the best I have ever see! |
