This is really a cool stereo. Other posters are complaining that the 5cd changer does not play all discs in random mode. IT DOES!!! press the CD MANAGER button once and press RANDOM and presto! 5discs in random mode, but it is quite noisy indeed. The sound is perfect. There are 2 weak points: tuner has no RDS and is has only 12 presets per band (AM/FM) total of 24 presets.

It takes awhile for the Cd player to change disks and it is loud when it changes disks

Well I almost did not purchase this system because I read a report that you could not use the random select on all 5 CD's .
Come to find out, YOU CAN. I shoped around and I tell you what, for the price, this is a great system. It sounds better then many of the other systems I checked out in the same price range. Shop around becuase it often goes on sale and a lot of stores carry it. The main dowmfal I see is that it takes awhile for the CD's to switch in the player. So if you are using the random mode you have to wait for the next disk to get cued up and the song to start, plus it is very noisy. However, for the price I paid, $190 at Circut City, if that is the only downfall, I can live with it. Another feature i was told that you can do but i have not tried it, is program only the songs you want to be played on each disk and hit the random mode, that seems like a nice feature. The sound quality and volume is plenty for my bedroom and if needed it would do just fine in a living room. If you are looking for a mini system in the $250 and below range, this is a good one to pick.

i think for what i payed for it i got a really great deal, less than 2 years ago, i purchased and AIWA at a similar price and it only had a total output power of 5 WATTS! compared to this systems 50WATTS!, that is a lot more power and the system uses the most of the power available, i am giving it to my mother though, her aiwa dies, so i gave her mine, i am looking around for a new mini sytem now, probably panasonic, (i love them!)

the cd changer takes a while (to eject and load the disks.

if you are in the market for a new stereo for your home look at this one, word od advice... newver buy a sony or a aiwa, they ar emade by the same company, and they are junk!

While this stereo does have great quality, believe it or not, the 5 CD changer is not capable of doing the "random" feature on all 5 CDs at once. It can only do the random feature on 1 CD at a time. To me, that defeats the whole purpose of having a 5 CD changer!!

Basically overall good stereo, as long as you don't mind the random feature.

This stereo has awesome sound quality. The bass is very sharp and balanced, and it offers many options. This is also basically the best buy for its price range.

Simply the best system you can buy at this price. The only weakness is the lack of an RDS tuner, but the sound is powerful and clear, you've got various sound modes to choose, double auto-reverse cassette deck, 5 CD changer and a funny display with spectrum analyzer.
Most important: build quality is excellent compared to other system I've used (buttons, controls and mechanical parts feel solid).

The highs are good. The price is really good!!!

The bass isn't as deep as I expected.

Its an ok stereo if you don't mind the bass being weak. The highs are excellent, it is easy to work with. So I guess its an ok stereo if you don't want tons of bass.
