Strength:
Sound quality of the amp and speakers. The remote is good.
Weakness:
Sound quality of the built-in CD player. Use a separate CD or DVD player and plug it in the back. This unit is fantastic to use along with your video system. Movie soundtracks sound great, and the bass and treble are absolutely superb even for full list price. The midrange is very nice also. The speakers have kevlar drivers, unheard of at this price, and also has a built-in subwoofer. It sounds by far the best with the equalizer set to "flat", but if you live in an apartment you may have to use the "custom" setting with the bass decreased to avoid angering your neighbors. I never use the built-in CD carousel, which is poor sounding, but instead plug in a good quality CD player to the RCA inputs on the rear of the unit. Doing this it sounds GREAT. This is the best audio deal I've ever found on a brand new unit. Similar Products Used: I've auditioned dozens of other similarly priced units. I always thought Aiwa made the best mini systems, but this one sets the standard. |

Strength:
Great Price - Cant believe Wal-Mart has it for $50 cheaper than anywhere else I've found, including E-Stores.
Weakness:
Sound is OK Good sound, good deal. Other boomboxes may sound better, but at a much greater price. Use it at work and it is on 24 hours a day. 5 disk MP3 playback ensures I never run out of tunes (thats like 1000 songs) |
