Strength:
Sharp looks, 2 year warrant opposed to one year on other models
Weakness:
Too dependent on remote control, Bad key layout on unit, No track, Calender, No clock Backup, Sound cuts out when switching between EQ settings, EQ settings cannot be adjusted. I just purchased this product and plan on returning it. In simple terms, sony cut corners when they produced this unit. The key layout is too complex on the remote while the main unit leave syou lacking. The [function] key is placed in between the [play][pause] keys and the [seek] keys. One can easily switch between functions rather than seeking tracks because of this placement. To top it off, when the function key is accidently pressed, the cd or md automatically resets. There is no track calander on the display, and it too leaves you wondering. The clock has no battery backup so forget about using this system for wake ups. The LCD panel labels the aux rca's on the back as "TAPE" when no one will ever use them for an extra tape deck since the optional tape deck for this unit has its own special connection. I bought this stereo to replace an older sony mhc unit, but there is no comparison. SONY is notorious for squeezing every penny out of there customers for their product. This never was a prblem when they loaded these units with extras. |

Strength:
Build quality, amplifier, speakers
Weakness:
Limited features I wanted a small mini-system for my bedroom. I first purchased the Sharp MD-X5 which is loaded with features, but this thing was just too finicky for me. All round quality wasn't there. I then decided on the DHC-MD333. This thing wreaks of quality. Last MD units made in Japan. Very refined sound for such a small unit. Not as feature rich as the Sharp, but that didn't matter to me. Sound and build quality is more important in my opinion. No digital outs or keyboard titling on this unit. Too bad. All round, this thing is a rugged, durable, well built, excellent sounding little mini-system. Similar Products Used: Sharp MD-X5 |

Strength:
Sound is great, wood speakers give great sound.
Weakness:
STUPID remote control Other than the very stupid remote control, overall a good system. Small, cheap, and very rugged. Easy loading MD/CD. Couldn't read CD-Rs very well though. Shame. |
