Can''t perform all functions from the remote

This system is great! I''m a teen so I like to play the music loud. The system has awesome bass and the 50+1 CD changer makes it even better. Whether it be high or low the speakers always sound clear and all this sound with only 160-watts.

Remote is very basic. Can only use one feature at a time (no rewinding a cassette while playing a cd)

Bought this system for music in home gym. Very impressed with the sound for the money. Very good upper bass response. I find myself listening to this unit even when not working out. The 50 + 1 CD player is a perfect place to store cd's yet at the touch of a button they are ready to play, sort of like a mini-jukebox. Got more than I was expecting on this purchase.

remote could have more functions, could use greater sound frequency response tape decks open too easily.

great stereo along with the ample cd storage i use it along with my tv and i get, in most cases, theater quality sound.

51 CD's good sound, good looks

Kind of limited remote, tape doors open easily,

This is a great cd system, I've used it for about a year now. I mostly just plug in my headphones to the jack, but every once in awhile after a test I'll blast it. It has a nice, digital, volume and tuner wheel. It also has specialized memory for blocking out entire tracks that you just don't want to hear (!!)

One quibble: I can't find my instruction manual anymore!! If anyone can point me to one, please email apsears2002@hotmail.com

I've found one CD which the system automatically reads text off of: The Episode 1 soundtrack. It's tres cool!

I listened to dozens of models of Mini-Systems befor buying this one for my twelve year old. This one had the best audio quality and usefull features in the Sub-$300 price range. 50 +1 CD changer is great! Highly recommended.

This system was a great deal at MSRP OF $300. Sold at most stores for around $249.95. This unit can now be had for $149.95 at end of model year sale at many places that still have stock on them. At that price is's in a league of it's own

The system has everything you could want. For the price it is worth it you get so much with the Sony MCH-MC1 that you dont need anything else

More functions on remote

This is the only system you would ever need I have listened to audio for over 10 years and I am most impressed with Sonys Latest MCH-MC1 51 Mega Changer. The 160 Watts give you plenty of power to fill a huge room. Other brands have 240, 200, but cant produce the same amount of highs and lows without distorting one another. My opinion Buy the Sony you will be more than happy, I sure am.

Could use more functions on the remote

I have just bought this system and am VERY impressed with it's performance. If QUALITY of sound is what you are looking for (rather than the flashly lights on the other systems) then this is your buy. I listened to several other systems, mainly Aiwas, before buying this one and none of them came close. The power, and clarity on the Sony was superior by leaps and bounds. Aiwa just does not seem to be what they used to be as far as mini systems go.

The aspect of the system I love the most is the bass. It is unbeleivable! The 50 disc changer is also great, however I consider this an extra perk. Intiallly I was only looking for a 3 disc changer, but the sound quality on this system sold me. Definitely check this one out.

If you are looking for a less expensive system, I would recommend looking at some of the Phillips/Magnavoks (beleive it or not). They also have excellent sound. I listened to one system (can't remember the model #) that had 100 watts of power and it sounded great. It actually sounded much better than the 160 watt (NSX-777) and the 200 watt Aiwa I listened to which was significantly more expensive.

TIP: The prices on these systems at stores like Circuit City, The Wiz, Best Buy, etc., are NOT set in stone. When I bought the Sony it was priced at $300 at Circuit City, but I was able to get it down to $250. If you get the right salesperson, the price IS negotiable. If they appear to be inflexible ask the manager to budge on the price.

I have listened to several similar Aiwa systems and tehy are nowhere near the quality of the MHC-MC1. The distortion on the Aiwas (especially the one's with the built in subwoofer) is terrible! The bass on the Sony is exceptionally clean, clear, and crisp.

The reflex bass - amazing THUDS ..!!!!

Remote is irritating.

The most amazing thing about this system is the bass reflex. I had virtually given up on minisystems after hearing all the Aiwas, Panasonics .... Nothing sounds good when U pump up the volume. But this one pounds. Whether you're a Pink floyd enthusiast or not, you'd probably want to play "Dark side of the Moon" on this. That's what I played first. Sounds as good as systems priced 2-2.5 times as much. Plenty of power to fill the room. 1 hell of a system.
