Great Clear Sound! 50+1 CD's WOW!!!
Weakness:
Would like to have a larger CD tile display for eaiser viewing from across the room or even better yet one on the remote! Great system. Delivers quality clear sound at all volume levels. Have added a Aiwa sub-woofer TS-W60 which really adds "punch" to the bass. The system has really good imaging suround sound setting are good. I don't use cassete tapes, so the decks are sort of a waste for me. I wish sony would make the same system with out the decks. Overall, It's a GREAT system for the money and I love the 50 CD changer/storage! Similar Products Used: JBL Harmony |

Strength:
All in one unit, 50+1 CD player, I can connect my TV or VCR in to the back of the unit for Dolby Pro Logic, also-additional input/output for subwoofer (Sony SA-W305/W303 for $138), and clear surround sound. With the subwoofer added, I can no longer listen to music or movies w/o it. With the movies, the Iron Giant and Saving Private Ryan, I swore I was partaking in the movie-THERE!!
Weakness:
Tuner isn't the greatest-I'm using an external TV/FM signal antenna from the roof aimed directly at the Empire State Building with an amp connected and still cannot get a clear signal for ALL of the stations. I have to sacrifice one or several stations in the process. I saddly had to give up WBLS (107.5). Even at 107.4 or 107.6 cannot eliminate the static. The rear satellite speakers are prettty weak. I was disappointed that I could not get them to sound a bit louder considering that they have to be to the sides of the listener to put him in the middle of the movie. Dolby 5.1 would have been a plus. Maybe I'll look into getting better satellite speakers. It would have been very nice if SONY had included, in the remote, a programmable feature for the CD player. It's very hard for us couch potatoes to get up and begin programming once we're lying down. Overall a good system for the money. I paid $369 (including tax) from J&R Music store. With the exception of the weak tuner and sattelite speakers it's not a bad system at all for the money. Similar Products Used: An AIWA mini system that crapped out in only 2 years. After having an Aiwa NSX-V3000 for three years, the MHC-MC3AV is a very welcome addition to my bedroom. First off, I thought the bass wasn't as strong as the Aiwa, but then I just realized it was clean REAL bass, not the distorted crap the Aiwa gave out. The bass actually shakes my room, and the treble is incredibly detailed. This is by far the best mini-system I have ever used. |

Great sound for the dollar. 51 disk changer, loud, easy operation, modern look. Would reccomend for a bedroom system for a serious listener, and a living room system for someone who wants good sound for a smaller price tag. |

Strength:
Excellent unit around with virtually everything built in, it got a nice 50 plus one CD changer. The extra one is for playing extra CDs , very easy to use, just press PLUS ONE button, it automatically takes it loads and plays.Cool...
Weakness:
Only one function can be used at any time, EX: can't rewind a tape while listening to Radio or CD. No mute button. It may look like giving an add to SONY, but I bought this system after much research including Many Receivers. It may not be good bet for just for Watching Movies, but for the people who enjoy music more.It has 3Way powerpul front Speakers(instead of minicule front speakers you find in Many receivers) which produce a clear Sound Stage and Imaging. The bass is so deep and clean you will love it, Similar Products Used: Aiwa, JVC |
