Strength:
Really easy to wire up (Ive never done it before and it was simple) DAB (No more fuzzy radio) Volume Nob (mentioned above)
Weakness:
You will need an extension lead with 4 plugs to use it. Err.. im out Well i just got it today at £379.99 (not entire set just CD player, DAB Tuner and Amp) but my speakers havent yet come! I cant wait ive played a few tunes and it sounds ok on headphones but i cant really say that much about sound quality yet. It says in the manual that it shouldnt be stacked i thought that was the whole idea. Anyway, it looks really cool and the volume nob is neat (it rotates when you change the volume on the remote) i cant wait for my speakers to come! Similar Products Used: My old radio (6 yrs old) |

Strength:
Sound quality, pure and rich. Build quality is excellent.
Weakness:
No real bi-wiring possible. The TEAC 300 is not be be confused with many small hifi systems. Although the size is half of a standard hifi's, it belies the sound quality. With appropriate speakers (I use Mission 71Ie - bought seperately) which do need quite a long time to run in, the systems sounds full of detail, rich and smooth. The soundstage really makes you think the system is much larger and expensive. Although the power output make seem small, it compensates in pure quality of the delivery. Treble and mid-range are truly excellent with all types of music, with bass being adequate though some people may now prefer some more low down power. Bass is a very personal issue and I do not like bass that impedes or even blocks out other frequencies. The music produced is not forced and remains pure, even at high volumes. The system looks great, although that is more of a bonus that anything else. The quality of the hifi is also brilliant and the weight of each unit shames many larger systems. I did find (as with all good hifi systems) that good interconnects and speaker cable make a huge difference. I do not think that for the money you can buy a better made, better sounding system. If you like quality over quantity (like flashing lights and booming bass) you cannot go wrong. Look around for a good deal on the price and the TEAC 300 will not disappoint.
