How do you gauge the effectiveness of a piece of gear that doesn't do anything you can see or hear? I suppose the only thing that matters is that you never see it in action. It's kind of like the cop on the beat. You are glad he is there but you never want to have to call on him for help. So it is with equipment that just monitors stuff in case things get out of hand. For folks who think line filtering matters, this device could very well do the job ...I guess. Certainly having extra outlets is a good thing. That is why I bought it. I have found that power spikes - and the large number of RFI generators in my area - interfere often enough that I want to protect my gear and the signal going to it. Time will tell.

The blue lights are interesting... for the first 5 minutes. After that, they can get a bit annoying. There is a number of tiny LEDs blinking and flashing in my audio gear corner that don't actually tell you anything you really need to know, at least on an ongoing basis. More importantly, when the room lights are turned off, they combine to create a visual cacophony of incessantly blinking lights which interferes with my early evening nap.
