I'm also commenting on a slightly different model: ST-55. I agree that it does what it is supposed to reasonably well. I have had no problems with its quality.
One things I do object to. Its not remote controllable. I should not have purchased it, because I'm using it in a combined audio/home theater system. Its suprising how quickly one gets used to being able to remote control everything.

The unit I'm reviewing is actually a Marantz model number ST-46 (not ST-47). I recently purchased this unit to pair with a new Yamaha DSP-A1G. Appearance of this piece is sleek. Its features and performance seems to be on par with most other tuners in its price range ($200-300). Just "adequate", not special in any way. Reception of several weak stations in my area was good. The unit does come with a flat, credit card type remote with a membrane keypad. Seems to function OK but I wouldn't expect the membrane keypad to hold up very long.
Unfortunately, the unit I have is being returned because of a defect. Stations would drop out intermittently for about the first hour or so until it warmed up. I will assume the unit I received was a lemon and does not reflect how the unit would function normally. Barring the above mentioned defect, I would rate it at a solid 2 stars. Because I got a lemon I can't give it anymore than 1 star at this time.
