Strength:

Gets a lot of stations, fairly low noise levels

Weakness:

A bit expensive

I bought this radio to go with my C340 amp and C540 cd player. The sound is, of course, not as good as the CD. This would require a minor miracle. It sounds a bit flat, but it is only a radio. I can get three times as many stations with this than my old radio, and the all come in fairly well (low noise), though the RDS flickers. But that doesn't matter as once it's got the signal it saves RDS data locally. It is important to get proper cables, even for a radio, and to play with the antenna posistion. I managed to nearly elimit noise on 4 stations by swinging the in-box antenna 50 degrees. It's a good radio, but a bit pricy for what you get. If your country has several stores with NAD, then shop around, I think I paid a bit much.
On a final note the Blend function that reduces noise but cuts stereo sparation does work, but it will not remove all the noise, so unless you can live with this (as I can) you'll end up in mono anyway.

Strength:

Inexpensive

Weakness:

No remote, Slightly difficult controls, poor reception

Well, I am not real imprssed with this tuner. I was looking for something to compliment my Lexicon DC1 and I didn't want to spend a fortune. I stumbled across the C440 and bought it. However, like earlier reviews stated, the programming isn't all that intuitive and direct preset access isn't possible- you have to scroll through ALL your presets. Oh weel, I'm smart enought to figure THAT out. Also, mine came slightly warped as well. It doesn't sit perfectly flat on the shelf. Again, not a huge deal. However, the lack of remote SUCKS as does the reception. I can't get half the crap a cheesy $100 boombox can pick up. What's the deal? It basically sat useless in my room at school because I can't pick up stations broadcast 10 miles away. It's better here at home, but still pretty much sucks. Time to invest in a roof antenna, eh?
When I do get good reception, it sounds quite good and full. About as good as radio can get, anyway.

Strength:

fine build

Weakness:

rds sensors too sensitive, poor remote (system),no radio text button on remote

got this one to match my c320, mostly because of remote
i never liked it's deep (but open) sound to much, but since i am casual radio listener it is not a big deal, at least not for 180 bucks. and since most of the stations are sending that sort of distorted sound anyway it does not really matter . . .
its biggest problem is that it cuts radio text if it loses rds signal even for a milisecond - and you can not press that button over remote (yes i know your proposal - buy four meter long stick and it is going to work!) this is the case both in areal and in cable too
i swapped my unit after one month claiming this problem but it seems it has the whole series
it has also solid build - as nad always does and is of course ugly as sinn! but i like that. and if you put it on any shelf it will not lose any sound quality too
still i am considering trading it in for rotel since it apparently ignores those rds problems
