I bought the Sansui TU-717 second hand about 18 years ago (if I remember correctly, for about $200). It still produce decent sound. It dosen't measure up to the high-end tuners, but it certainly serves well in a mid to high end system: reasonably good sound, good sound stage and depth, good reception. Over the years, I changed many equipments, but never feel the need to change the tuner. I believe this tuner won't disappoint you for a system cost up to 10k.
