Sony did a good job with this one for sure. The sound is loud and clear - a cut above all the boomboxes out there, except the $200 JVC RV-B90. The best $100 sound you can get - you won't be disappointed.

8 D batteries, but that's the price you pay for volume and a pretty good little woofer

I'm not going to go on and on about a boom box. It does everything I thought it would and so far it's been trouble free. I recently took it on a river camping trip and it cranked along for 2 days (fairly loud) on a set of energizers using the CD.
