Strength:
Mp3 playback; clean sound; easy to use controls and remote with a couple features included; lightweight and compact; excellent battery longevity, with expandability included.
Weakness:
No belt-clip on the back; EQ more of a gimmick than a useful device; random play when using an mp3 disc chooses randomly from all songs whether they've been played yet or not - which can become annoying when the same song is chosen several times in a short span. This is a really nice little unit; compact, light, and well made. Sound quality is clean and seems very good, though it probably depends a lot on what headphones you use. I can't speak for the ear-bud types ones that came with the unit; I just plug in my Sony studio monitor. The remote has some nice features, though the EQ function is of questionable usefulness. Best of all, this unit also plays mp3s without a hitch, which makes it very handy. I haven't noticed any skipping on CDs or mp3 discs, but I don't really jostle it around much. Battery capacity is impressive, especially with a couple of rechargables in the outboard battery compartment. I've run it literally for weeks with moderate use on a single charge. All in all a great little player for travel and such, at a very reasonable price for the features it has. Similar Products Used: The last portable I used was the size of the padded case this one fits into. It's been awhile. |
