Strength:
Strength:
When it works, it works really well. Battery life extremely long
Weakness:
Doesn't live up to the durability that is advertised Worked well for the first 2 years I had it. Then I dropped it once from about 3 feet and it skips all the time. I'm not too impressed considering it is advertised as being very tough. It should be able to handle a small drop onto linoleum. My friend has the same discman and the exact same thing happened. This is something I would expect from a $50 discman...but when I'm spending $150 I want something thats going to last more than 2 years. |

Strength:
Will not skip, double locking case, water resistant, X Bass, solid construction.
Weakness:
LCD does no light up with batteries and is a little ahrd to read when not straight on. No FM tuner, headphones aren't the greatest I bought the model without the neoprene case (SL-SW505), and couldn't be happier. I tried everything short of stomping on it to make it skip and it simply won't skip. The 40 second memory buffer is great. The X Bass helps liven up songs and the player itself is rugged and water resistant. The headphones are not studio quality, but fairly live so that the music is heard when in noisy situation (i.e. when running or mountain biking). Would recommend this to anyone. Quality equal to Sony at half the price. Picked mine up on Ebay for $60. ~$100 online elsewhere. Similar Products Used: Sony Discman, Sony walkman |

Strength:
Does not skip, period.
Weakness:
Crummy headphones I would recommend this player, even if you don't jog or work out with one. The good thing about getting a "sports" player is you don't have to worry about being nice to it. I have dropped it 4 ft. on a tile floor and it kept on playing as if it were nothing. If you get it, ditch the headphones, they look and feel cheap and the cord is way too short. Get a nice pair of the sony "street style" headphones ($18 at target). If you're looking for a cheap alternative to a Rio player, and you have a CD burner in your computer, this is a good choice. They come in two colors, bright yellow and dark blue. Now, I wish I would have gotten the dark blue one, the yellow and black colors are kind of ugly, but that's not impoarant, because this is a tough player that you can throw in your backpack and not worry about it getting broken. |

Strength:
Will not skip. Resistant to water.
Weakness:
Only one X-bass setting. Some controls underneath top. If you want a CD player that won't skip, buy this one. It was rated tops in Consumer Reports for anti-skip and track search. With the headphones you either like them or hate them. They generate a LOT of bass, though I think the Sony's are better for mid-range response. Similar Products Used: Two Sony portable players. |

Good sounding portable with 40 second anti-shock. It is possible to go jogging with it if you carry it in your hand or find another way to dampen shocks from footfalls. Very durable - has survived two falls from greater than ten feet with only damage being the battery cover. One glaring negative - the batteries are located under the CD - you have to open it up and remove the CD to change batteries. Best portable I've owned yet. |
