Creative Nomad II SUCKS - DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!!!!!!!!! - -Where do I start?- The FM tuner only works when standing next to the Radio Broadcast Station. I live in a downtown area close to several radio stations and this thing will not hold a complete signal for more than two seconds unless I'm standing next to the Radio Broadcast Station. -NEXT- The cheap little buttons break far too easily, I have pushed in a couple of buttons by just simply touching them. Once they are pushed in they become unuseable. -NEXT- Tech support is a FU$#ING JOKE! I waited for two and a half hours until some kid picked me up, only to have no knowledge behind this product. The Supervisor was a twenty four year old with less knowledge. BTW, this support call is long distance at your expence. -NEXT- I suggest everyone BOYCOTT Creative Labs and thier shotty products and lack of service. -DO NOT BUY CREATIVE LABS PRODUCTS-

Ok, this is preliminary review of the product b/c it is due to ship in two weeks. I have spent bit of time with this player.
Look's Great (Magnesium), over the cheap plastic of the RIO.
Size, well it's significantly smaller than deck of cards.
Sounds at least on par with Sony MD.
64MB!!, over 2hr+ of music.
Voice recording, so you never forget your ideas.
FM tuner, for those who listen to POP music too much.

Caveats, circular display screen looks cool, but does not give much room to display track names.

BOTTOM LINE: So far the best in it's class. I will take this over any portable CD/MD.

This is a piece of crap. The casing is impressive but there is no belt clip. On the web site it shows a person running with it, but how the heck does he do it? The volume control is weak... setting 20 is equivalent to the rio's 10.The voice recording is nice but weak as well. There is no a-b function (for looped playback within an mp3) and the jazz and rock eq settings are exactly the same. It only scrolls the song once and the time between tracks is horrendous. The serial number is sprawled carelessly accross the back with a mettallic tape. The worst creative labs purchase I have ever made.

Size, built in tuner, higher quality case than most mp3 players.

Like all mp3 players you can't store as many songs as you want to.

I have the Nomad II mg 64mb and I've upgraded it with a 128mb memory card. My brother has the Rio 500 and we both agree that the Nomad sounds better. I also think it's better looking for what it's worth. I've used the software with windows 98 and 2000 with no problems whatsoever.

Button Placement

With features like Voice Recording, Radio Playback, Radio Recording, and MP3 and WMA support this tiny litle unit has everything I need.

More than once I've sat on, laid down on, dropped, etc. this player (the II MG) while working out and never have I experienced even a hint of a problem.

And the WMA support makes a big difference, as a WMA encoded at 64kbps sounds almost as good (and more than good enough for a work-out)as an MP3 encoded at 128kbps, so I can usually fit almost 30 songs on the on-board 64MB or memory.

Where do i begin? Software is FLAKY, doesn't work with Win200 or ME, unit locks up all the time. Docking station is parallel port instead of USB. Poor support from Creative Labs.

This thing has to be the biggest piece of CRAP on the planet. The software is bug-ridden, the unit locks up all the time and forget about upgragding your system to Windows 2000 or ME because it won't work. Creative labs purchased this unit from Samsung and put it out in the marketplace so it could compete with the other portable MP3 players. They said they no longer support this product and "you're on your own". Nice. I will never purchase anything else from Creative Labs. THEY SUCK!

I got this product and it was everything I wanted it to be. Perhaps the best thing besides the sound is its small size and weight is the included docking station that serves two purposes- to recharge the batteries(rechargable
batteries are included) and connect to the computer. The fact that there is 64mb internal memory and it can also hold scandisk media(up to 128mb cards for now, and if larger cards are made they say the software will be updated) so I bought a 32mb card my friend wasn't using to make it to 96mb for now. The software included is also a good program for ripping mp3's and transfers the songs easily. My only disapointment was the included headphones, cause they stink cause they have no bass. But any decent pair of headphones improves the sound dramatically.

I basically use the Nomad II MG to listen to music when I walk to classes around my college, and I really enjoy it.

Nice & small, FM tuner, records from stations (I can listen to Howard Stern later), Voice memo feature, comes with Ni-Cads and cradle for recharging, upgradeable software.

No Remote (on U.S Models)!!! Software is a pain to navigate and find music files. Cant use on Windows NT, cant upload songs to another p.c. Button placement on sides sux, you can delete songs or change modes accidently. Vinyl case is only good for holding the player, doesnt show buttons.

Sound quality on this is Excellent!!! FM station pickup is very good hardly any interference, even in Manhattan. Batteries last a good amount of time on a charge. Upgradeable software lets you convert your WAV or MP3 files to WMA format thus saving some space. Volume is very good contrary to what they say here, the headphones arent that good, get a pair of Sony EP888's. You can also record your CD's on to the player. It's a great looking, durable piece of equipment that will last just about as long as it takes for the Treo to come out.
