Poor Quality, High Price, Short Warranty, No Customer Service or Support. I purchased Creative Nomad Jukebox 3 40gb MP3 player last year and the one word that best describes my experience is 'disappointed'. The quality of the product is so low that not one feature of the device has withstood average use without becoming faulty. The headphone jack shorts out, the buttons work intermittently, the scroll wheel is erratic. Save yourself the hassle and frustration and buy something else. Weakness:
Short life, Cost, battery life, Creative's customer service (what a joke) This product is the WORST investment I have ever made. I stongly disourage you from buying nomads and creative products at all due, to the AWFUL customer service (if you can call it that!) My jukebox was great for the few months that it worked fine, but then it started to lock up during song transfers and during playback. The batteries do not last very long at all, and the battery meter will say you have alot of power left, but then it will die. And don't expect Creative to fix it for you, even when you pay them. After being told it would take 10 days to repair, and after SEVERAL long distance calls and two months, and promises of calls from a "supervisor" my Nomad was returned in the exact same condition. Although, they said they fixed it. And don't think it will help any to call the corporate office to try to find someone who cares, no one will return your call. And, yes I have downloaded all the updates, that is NOT the problem. I really enjoyed this product for the short time that it worked, buy now after spending $350 on it i am left with nothing, it is no good anymore, and Creative obviously does not plan on fixing it for me |

Strength:
* Large capacity * Easily expandible * Portable (to some extent)
Weakness:
* IR will *never* be Functional * Brutally short battery life * Slow and clumsy interface For under $300 bucks, I can''t complain. The NJB most of what it''s supposed to do. (It does NOT support digital recording, and the Infra-red looking thing on the front is nothing more than an ornament) I am really pleased at how easy it is to upgrade (the unit will hold a standard 9mm slim laptop HDD. But am really appalled by the disgustingly short battery life. Also it could have used a slightly more powerfull processor, as this one can''t even handle the task of scrolling through the playlist while listening to music. Creative Labs is a rip-off. I purchased the Nomad for a Christmas gift because Creative Labs was offering a $30 rebate. I got it at wal-mart.com and sent in all the info requested on the rebate terms and conditions. Now creative Labs refuses to send my rebate because they say that Wal-Mart was not a participating retailer in the rebate. I never found any info anywhere, including Creative Labs web site stating that it had to be purchased from a certain dealer. I have a copy of the rebate terms and conditions right here in front of me now and nowhere does it state this. They even admitted to me that the information was not stated anywhere but still refuse. I''m sure that I am not the only one to run into this problem. |

Weakness:
Does not work at all, heavy, big, and I must say this product sucks, the worst mp3 player I''ve ever know, I don''t even know why I liked it at first. I just bought it two days, ago. Now, I''ve installed the software and the program (Play Center2) is a little crazy, not my computer. It''s very good, and not a cheap one. The program that plays your MP3s kept on telling me I needed to close it because some error occured and the player is not connected. I''ve connected everything, I checked it 1000 times. It made me YESmad, not NOmad. This product sucks, but the player is ok to use but it doesn''t work. Do you think I should return it or exchange it for another one? If you want to buy a MP3 player, I suggest you to buy an iPod. That''s what my cousin got and it works FINE!!!! I didn''t buy it because I don''t have a Mancintosh computer. |

When it worked, it played exceptionally well. I ran it through my home sterio, car sterio.
Weakness:
It lasted 7 months and then went out. Creative Labs Customer Support is inferior. No toll free numbers and on line support is sorely lacking. Warning: The Nomad Jukebox is not quite ready for long term use. Creative Labs does not stand behind their product after 6 months. At month 7 my Nomad Jukebox suddenly went out. I never dropped it or mishandled it. Make sure you buy a waranty for this model. They charge $25 just to look at it. We all know how electronics repair go after that.
