Strength:

PRETTY ACURATE SOUND ESPECIALLY AT HIGHER TREBLE

Weakness:

WEAK BASE

POOR GRILLE DESIGN. FIRST PAI...SPEAKER GRILLES WERE LOOSE AND THE REPLACEMENT PAIR, ONE GRILLE WAS LOOSE. NO WAY POSSIBLE TO REATTCH THE GRILLE IF IT IS LOOSE OR COMES OFF. IF ITS LOOSE, TAKE IT BACK!!! A LITTLE TOO EXPENSIVE, BUT IT LOOKS GREAT...(NOT SURE IF THIS A GOOD REASON TO BUY A SPEAKER, BUT IT WAS ONE OF THE REASONS I BOUGHT THEM)

Strength:

Beautiful sound, very clear and crisp

Weakness:

Definate need for a sub

When I originally bought these speakers I had them connected to a Cyrus Straightline amp which I felt was weak and didn't push the music through the speakers, although, it was possible to hear the potential of these wonderful speakers. The real weakness is the lack of bass but these are small bookshelf speakers. To get the full benefit of the sound I returned the Cyrus (to a disgruntled audio dealer and took my business elsewhere).

I tend to listen to dance music through my computer. The sound I was looking for needed to be clear and precise in a small environment and also have enough depth of sound to fill a small conference size room with lucid bass vibes.

I have now been able to achieve this by attaching the LM1's to a magnificent NAD C340 amp (streets ahead of the Cyrus) and obtain the bass and power from a Bose Acoustimass 3 IV. I know Bose get a hard time, and personally I find the cube speaker very annoying and uncomfortable to listen to on their own (especially on songs that begin without any bass line) but the LM1's remove that edge and the Bose Module gives a very subtle and complimentary sound to the LM1's.

It has taken me several weeks of research to find a reasonable priced system, which fulfils my requirements, but I now have it.

These LM1's benefit from a company (B&W) who manufacture some of the finest speakers on the planet so it goes without question these babies have been well engineered, and the look pretty cool to boot.

Top draw computer speakers, but they do need that extra bass.
