Strength:

The size, cuality construction and materials, treble, mid, bass, bi-wired, heavy, very good locking and design, it's a great product.

Weakness:

At the first month of use they sounds bad, becouse you have to burn them in this period of time, but the final result is excellent, it's not a really weakness.

I purchased the new Bronze B2, and I'm very happy with those babyes. Sounds very very well, the treble is soft and detailed, the mids are escepcional and the bass is punchy and deep, think those are bookshelf speakers. If you want to improve their cuality sound at the maxium level you have to bi-ware them, the sound changes a lot, is more open and detailed. And if you add a powered subwoofer you'll have a good cuality and powerfull system.

Strength:

Price.

Weakness:

Sound harsh and poor imaging. Try music on drum you will know what I mean.

Monitor Audio B2 I bought my Monitor Audio B2 and sold it in less than 3 weeks. Hearing the Monitor Audio S1 has immediate change my perception about this 5 starts speaker. I would agree when first heard it sounds great with the clarity and bass produced from this heavy box. While getting into jazz, rock and vocal they seem to sound warm in the first place. But later get feeling that the instruments and vocal are challenging each other making the sound harsh and poor imaging (there is no layering in these speakers). Comparing to the monitor audio S1, B2 is definitely not my choice.

Strength:

Extremely accurate. Voices sound like the person is in the room. Highs are also outstanding.

Weakness:

As with most bookshelf speakers, you will want a subwoofer for the full range. Although this is not a weakness; bookshelf speakers aren't meant to have a lot of bass.

Very nice speakers for their price. Voices are extremely accurate. They are also non-forgiving speakers..meaning they do not accentuate any part of the spectrum, what you hear is how the sound was recorded. To have the full effect, couple these to a subwoofer and they are outstanding. Without a sub, they are lacking bass (obviously). However, they do what they are supposed to do: recreate mid to highs extremely accurately. They are also front ported, allowing them to be placed close to a wall, if space is a concern. I am doing sound mastering and have them set up with a Definitive Tech. SuperCube II subwoofer and I can tell you that it is one of the best setups I have ever heard; especially for the price.

Strength:

Seamless through the middle octaves. Biwire when possible you won't regret it. Voices and instruments sound natural. Very musical speaker

Weakness:

Slight sibilance with the tweeter. Slightly slow woofer.(I am a Linnie) Port gust causes distraction

I am what you would call a recovering audiophile. I used to live for listening to music and consequently spent thousands on many different componants from many different brands. I was looking at getting back into the addiction on the cheap and decided to go with the Bronze 2's from the reviews. At first listen I was very disappointed and wanted to return the speakers as I had never heard such a terrible speaker right out of the box. I decided to give them a good burn in and I have not regretted it since. I am utterly amazed at the transformation with these speakers after about 50 hours of burn in. They are not perfect, but they do many things well. The most noticable anomality is the treble sibilence that accentuates jitter on poor recordings. The other major anomality would be the slightly dark sounding and slow woofer tendancies in the bass region. While the tweeter is fast and lively, the woofer is somewhat slower and plodding with a very slight accentuation to male voices in the lower region. For the price though, these speakers are wonderful. Soundstage is wide, yet focused. Sound is natural and open. Great sounding speaker for the money. The one major complaint I have is that when at loud volumes the port shoots out a very strong gust of air at my face all the way to my listening chair. I do not really hear any port noise, but the volume of air shot out at the listener is amazing, and distracting.

Strength:

Very Full sound A lot of Quality sound for very little money efficient

Weakness:

Seams to make all the music a little too laid back.

I purchased these speakers to compare them to the B&W 601 S3's that I purchased a day earlier. I must say that in te store, they beat the 601's. They have a very "full' sound that is anything but harsh. However, in my home, not listening with the multi-dollar Macintosh system that they were audiotioned on, they almost sounded boring compared to the 601's. Don't get me wrong, the sound amazing for a $400 dollar speaker, just not as accurate as the B&W's. After listening for several hours back and forth, I went back to 601's and felt good about my decision.

Strength:

Phenomenal Depth, and full of life, big sound in a compact design.

Weakness:

Lack of bass at times, but very rarely.

I use the B2s as my computer speakers with a pioneer SA-6300, and they are rocking all day long, and everytime I turn them up really loud they amaze me more and more. Even at very high volume they are clear and full of life. And the bass is unbelieveable. They are tower speakers compressed into bookshelf speakers. For my music (trance/techno), they are just superior to any Ive heard thus far. Every sound is brought out and given life through these speakers.

Strength:

Large and deep soundstage, open, 3-dimensional, well-balanced sound with hi, mid & low integrated in harmony.

Weakness:

None, even my Jmlab 906 loses to B2 in some areas.

I can't understand why it swept so many awards and received so high acclaim from users until I bought it. Right out of the box, it already sounds better than my Quad 11L which also won the product of year award from what hi-fi. As described by the user below, the soundstage is large and deep, high is crisp but smooth and never bright, midrange is full & rich while the low is taut and punchy. I considered between B2, B&W DM602s3, Jmlab 706s, but I finally choose B2. It's simply the best buy at this price and I would say it's up to competition against speaker costing twice.

Strength:

The amazing value. For the money, it simply can't be beat

Weakness:

They're not 300.00 Watt/Puppies

Where do I start... I guess with the speakers that I have been using for the last 2 years,a pair of Polk Audio RT15i's. The sound was enjoyable and, because it was mated with my very smooth sounding Marantz SR780,it's tendencies towards harshness (as documented in other reviews)were somewhat masked. And they were small enough that my wife didn't object too strenuously about the prominent position that they neccesarily had to occupy in our (my) listening room. However, as time marched on, I felt a growing dissatisfaction with what I was hearing. I had started to notice the rave reviews on the B2 in the audio mags, as well as the reviews posted on this forum, and what they were describing was not what I was hearing with the Polks. So I visited a local Monitor Audio retailer for a listen, and my world was changed. Soundstaging, depth of field, brilliant, but non-grating highs, warm midrange, taut bass, it was all here! And this was right out of the box! As they broke in (100 hours), all these disparate elements came togather to create an experience that still gives me goose bumps every time I fire them up. This is what the reviewers mean when they say that this is the best speaker system that 399.00 (retail) can buy. Granted, I haven't heard a lot of the mega-bucks speaker systems that are out there, but I have heard some. And given my Home Depot budget, I can't imagine being any happier with them than I am with these wonderful speakers. Plus, they're not THAT much bigger than the polks, so my wife is still relatively happy. I believe that I have found a system that I will be happy with for many years to come. They may not be truly high-end, but I'm sure that if I spent the money that it would take to buy a system that was, my conscience(and my wife) would suck all the fun out of the experience anyway.

Strength:

Articulate and revelaing.

Weakness:

Slightly laid back but very detailed and natural mid range.

Champagne taste, beer budget? If you prefer smooth, detailed, natural, and involving HI FI over all show-no go, these can't be beat at thier price range to the best of my knowlege. Properly set up they will amaze you. Couple with the ASW100 sub and you can not believe how little money it takes to get such great HI FI. Of course they require super heavy and solid stands to sound thier best, and an extensive all music burn in to loosen up. But after a few days burn in you wont be able to leave them, I couldn't. Closest competition is probably Acoustic Energy and B&W. They rest cost twice thier price.

Strength:

Great quality and value for the money I spent at a local retailer. The praise this product has recieved from industry reviews and fellow consumers on this site is well deserved.

Weakness:

Not fully broken in yet. They will sound even better in 30-45 days!!!

Wow!!! Outstanding speaker for $350. a pair. I had Bronze 1's in front and decided to upgrade to the B 2's. Huge difference!!! Much more detail in music. I highly recommend these speakers to those who enjoy listening to a wide range of tunes. It's all good.
