They actually came out in 1977. I got my pair from Tech-Hifi (12 west 45th st) on Sept. 22, 1978 for $356, still have the receipt! Carried them home to Bay Ridge on the RR train with help from my brother. Nothing like schlepping 35lb. speakers on the NYC subway! I had the surrounds done in the late 90's and they still impress if not annoy the neighbors.

The OHM Model L is truly a GREAT bookshelf speaker. Don't just take my word for it Here are a few of the many quotes from reputable sources. 1978 High Fidelity Magazine: "Stereo imaging is excellent to the point where the sound seems almost detached from the speakers. Ohm has another winner" 1977 Stereo Review Magazine: The OHM L is a highly accurate reproducer of music... the upper mid-range and high frequencies are absolutely perfect.. meets the critical standards usually applied to much larger and considerably more expensive speakers. 1977 FM guide: "The OHM L's sound is remarkable" 1977 Buyers Guide to Hifi: Highly recommended... the immediate reaction is one of surprise at the openess.. voices are utterly natural with no sense of strain and sound stage is, well shockingly good"

This is a vintage speaker set built originally in the 1970's. The company is still around and the are refubishing older models with newer drives and cabinet set up's. They do still build a series of speaker called the Walsh line up.
