Strength:
Clean and smooth Room filling Excellent soundstage Quality cabinet construction Best kept secret for speakers less than $1000
Weakness:
A bit expensive comparing to other bookshelves I am sold on these Studio 20!!! After a few months of researching and auditioning several speakers including B&W 602, Axiom M22Ti, Definitive Technology 500, Paradigm Monitor 5 and Studio 40, I finally decided to go with the Studio 20 v3. I was leaning towards the Monitor 5 and really liked the Studio 40, until I gave the Studio 20 a try. The store manager agreed to let me exchange as an upgrade for the Studio 40 within 30 days if I didn't like them. After a few weeks of listening and watching movies with them, I have no doubt that I am going to keep them. The sound is superbly room-filling with generous base and pure highs. The cabinet construction is solid and high quality. Even cutting off my CC-370 center, PDR-10 sub and Titan rear, the sound is just as mighty on its own. For my setup, I don't think it's worth an extra $400 for the Studio 40. Similar Products Used: Axiom M22Ti B&W 602 s3 Paradigm Studio 40 v3 Paradigm Monitor 5 Paradigm Titan |

Strength:
Reproduction of music especially in the high end of the spectrum and ability to reproduce correct musical tonality.
Weakness:
You cannot hear them when the amplifier is not turned on. I have just purchased the studio 20 v3 speakers and all i can say is Wow. I was going to buy used v2's but even those were going to be over $400 so I splurged on the v3's. They are much better than my old monitor 5's and pack tremendous punch. Fill the room with sound easily and the clarity, accuracy and ability to reproduce good vibrations is stunning. If you sit in the right spot you will not even realize the sound is coming from the speakers due to the imaging and sound staging capability. But who has time to sit anyway...These speakers are keepers at this price point and I plan to get many years out of them. No intention of adding a subwoofer. Strength:
Huge soundfield Great Tweeter
Weakness:
Breakin Period I upgraded to these from monitor 7s v2s. I was hesitant about moving from floor standing speakers to bookshelves. These little speakers output tremendous amounts of sound for there size. I regards of clarity they totally blow my old 7s out of the water. I have also listened to the older v.2 20s and the new tweeter design in the v.3 is vastly superior. Similar Products Used: Monitor 7s Studio 20 v.2s B&W |

Strength:
As detailed above
Weakness:
One needs sub of course Just replaced my v2 reference speakers with 2 pair of the Studio 20's v3 and the CC-470. They are quite simply stunning. No colorations and no boxiness whatsoever. There is simply music or movies. No reminders that I'm listening to speakers. There is adaquate bass for jazz without a sub, although I'm running them with a PW-2200 soon to be replace with an SVS PB2-plus. Neutral, detailed and effortless are my impressions after living with these beauties for 2 months now. The stunning light cherry finish, might fool you at first, into thinking that they're wood, although the're not. My home theater is around 2300 cubic feet and the speakers can get obscenely loud without breaking a sweat. Congratulations to Paradigm once again, for raising the bar on quality speakers at an affordable price. Similar Products Used: Parddigm Reference v2 |
