Once these speakers are broken in and positioned correctly and positioning is very important, they have a very good tone and timbre. Imaging and Soundstage are incredible when toe'd in a little, tweeters at ear level speakers about 5' between woofers and you are about 6' adjustable away, they disappear and you can clearly hear all instruments and there place on stage in a good recording. For bookshelf speakers they have well defined base and sweet treble. Excellent, excellent tube amp speaker and I have an audiophile store in PA and am very happy with these in the store and my bedroom...you will be too.
