i currently use thsese speakers with my onkyo stereo. And these are by far the greatest speakers i have aver had. They are very crisp sounding and at high volumes. They don't crack at all and the bass is just right. I like bass but too much just screws the music and all you hear is bass.

But these are very good

I currently have these speakers installed in a car audio application. Mine have had approximately 4 years in home use on them, and 2 years in-car use. The factory response is fairly smooth and flat, however, bass reproduction was a little less than exceptional. The tweeters are very crisp due to their size, and the midranges are aimed for the higher octaves. I have modified these speakers on a few levels.

- I'm currently using a bi-amped setup, so there is now two sets of terminals on the back of them.
- I've upgraded subwoofers to a cost-effective, high-power alternative (Insignia/Power Acoustik FUBR-12)
-Internal sub wiring has been upgraded to 12 gauge Monster Cable, and the tweeters/midranges have received 16 gauge Rockford Fosgate speaker wire.
-Terminal cups and around subwoofer has been resealed to ensure that it is air-tight.

There are no crossovers inside of these speakers, however, you will find the attached capacitors as necessary protection.

I am running two amplifiers right now. Sub amplifier is running at about 500W RMS, and the high amplifier is running at no more than 50W RMS for the midrange/tweeter per channel.

The port size is a bit small (~2"), but even after the subwoofer change, the port does not whistle with the extra excursion. With a light amount of poly-fill, these speakers are efficient at low volumes, yet remain accurate at higher volumes.

Though the factory driver qualities are less than exceptional, the design of these are great with a few modifications. I'd like it if they still made these.

Strength:

- Great accuracy at both low and high volumes.
- Fit well into any space.
- Not over or under powered.

Weakness:

- Not top-of-the-line sound, but these definitely aren't audiophile speakers.

These speakers are great. I have had them for around two years and they have given me great sound throughout their life. While not audiophile quality, they are very solid and perform very well at both high and low volumes without losing sound accuracy.
