Strength:
The best sounding speaker at this price level, will kill all competitors, even some at much higher price. Really good speaker for warm music lover.
Weakness:
Nothing at this price point. Can't say anything but agree with all other reviewers. One must be mad not to audition this excellent speaker at this price range. With this price, it sure blow away all it's competitors. Warm seductive sound, enough bass - not too much, deep and tight, will wash away the birghtness from your system while not sacrificing the detail and clarity. Auditioned Dynaudio audience 52 (totaly blown away) Monitor audio s8 & s6 (bass too boomy, not refined midband) B&W CDM1NT.... totaly rubbish, my ear almost bleed bcause of the high. bought dynaudio contour s 1.4 (great) and sold due to overspend on audio. I can say that the concertino (AU$2000 w/ stand)is a better value than the contour at AU$5600 w/stand, they sound pretty similar in every way, even I could say the concertino win over the contour at hi freq, the only flaw compared to the contour is the midband. The contour s1.4 got a bit more bite in the midband, yeah you can't have everything. I think the italian really take proud on their work, you can tell by the quality and finish of this product. Strength:
Reproduction of string instrument, piano, voice, euphoric atmosphere, coherence
Weakness:
bass can be boomy and slow if partnered with wrong amplifier Excellent value for money in Malaysia and Singapore, best partnered with fast, dynamic amplifier with grip on bass. I tried with NAD C370 and Naim Nait 3. The 30w Naim is a clear winner with excellent control on this speaker. String instruments and piano notes sound authentic and natural. Reproduction of human voice is great (not to the Rogers LS3/5a standard though). Very musical. Strength:
- warm sound with great vocals and dynamics - super-extra-excellnet building
Weakness:
- no bi-wiring Sonus Faber Concertino Home is an excellent fine built speaker made of real leather with a fine walnut chase. The building is absolutely excellent for that price. It will give you in a small room up to 20qm (mine is about 15qm)a full sound with great dynamics and deep and clear bass. If you love warm music, you will love it from the Concerinos. Note that you cannot use bi-wiring, this there is only one terminal for + and -. Put them on a stand (I use a self-made metallic one, 'cause I have not the money for the 400$ Sonus Faber ones)and about minimum 0,5m from the walls. Take good cables (Kimber's 4PR will do, also). I wonder how SF can build such a speaker to that price. Buy it!!! Similar Products Used: Chario, Canton |

Smoooth, but with detail. Very, very musical. Beautiful finish.
Weakness:
None for the price. No, they don't go low, BUT THEY'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO! After an afternoon of scrutinizing speakers from B&W, Paradigm, KEF, Vienna Acoustics and even Martin Logan, I settled in to listen to these puppies at my local Tweeter store and I was stunned. It blew away everything I had listened to earlier that day. I expected to dislike the soft dome tweeter, and perhaps my ears were fatigued and that made them sound more appealing than everything else, but to me, they just sounded like music. The best sound I heard all day... am considering getting a pair after listening to the NHTs I just had ordered. Similar Products Used: B&W Paradigm KEF Energy Vienna Acoustics Aura Sound Magnepan |

FUN WITH MUSIC, NO BORING "AUDIOPHILE" SOUND, STILL VERY (!) REFINED. BEAUTIFUL. PERFECTLY ASSEMBLED.
Weakness:
none This is one of those products which make you happy that you once bought them. Formerly I used a B&W Preference 6 and was not very happy with it. But as I am a student I did not have the money to replace them. But 4 months ago I was able to listen to this speaker with my setup und I knew I had to get it. It was another world compared to the B&W´s. (which is quite funny because in the german magazine audio they got rave reviews and even more points than the concertino home) But the Sonus Faber make everything (and I mean everything!) better, even bass which is less but far more right and integrated. I used to think that I would be one of those poor guys who will never be happy with their setup. I used to think that I will never be able to just listen to the music instead of listening to the technology. Surprisingly it only needed these speakers which were even cheaper than the B&W´s. Of course there are other speakers superior to them but i do not NEED them. Now I do not think about other components but about fine-tuning of the existing ones. AND ABOUT MUSIC! My Setup: Musical Fidelity A220 Integrated Amp Mission Cyrus DAD7 CD-Player Project 6.1 with Grado Reference Platinum Wood Record Player (Interconnects: van den Hul and Dynaudio) Speaker Stand: Sonus Faber Fixed Wood Similar Products Used: B&W, also listened to Audio Physic, Dynaudio, Epos, Audiodata, Quad ... |

Strength:
Beautiful mids, non-fatiguing high end, articulate bass. One of, if not the best deals in high end sound today.
Weakness:
None that I can tell. I spent about a month auditoning several speakers in the $1000-$2000 price range which included the B&W CDM1nt and N805, Vienna Acoustics Haydn, Energy Veritas 2.2, SF Concerto Home. While all of these speakers are very nice indeed, none of them created the excitement of the Sonus Conertino Home, and that includes the Concerto Home. The Concertino Home has a euphoric ambiance that just envelopes the listener. Everything seems to be done right. No glaring highs, very well balanced, and sweet mid range that is so alluring, and decent bass. The soundsatge and imaging are exceptional, and I feel the best of the bunch. In comparison to the other brands mentioned I noticed that the B&W''s and Energy had a slightly more extended top end, but they seemed to have some glare attached to that that wasn''t to my liking, and they also were a little bit more forward in their presentation that the Concertino Home. I''m not saying the Tino Home was laid back at all, really just perfect, it wasn''t over emphasizing the mids and highs in your face. On the other end of the spectrum the VA Haydn was considerably laid back in the mids, but a nice top end, sometimes even a little tizzy depending on the source material. What the Haydn has is very ample bass, alsmost too much, as it seems it is being over-emphasized to the point of not being neutral. With the SF Tinos I could not detect any such bass humps in the 50-60hz region, just flat. Against the Concerto Home I felt the Concertino Home was a little more lively, faster, and not quite as warm in the mid range tonal character. Still a very excellent speaker, and my second choice of the group with a noticable extension in the bass. Probably a little more refined, but not as involving for my tastes. While I don''t think one must have great electronics to enjoy these speakers, great electronics make these speakers absolutely sing beautiful music. They can also be particular as to cabling. While not as confined by placement issues as some of the other models mentioned, it is wise to give them adequate space both to the back, and sides. Tweeters placed toward the outside of the cabinet has worked the best for me, and provided the most appealing soundstage, and imaging charcteristics. Imaging, Vocals, and acccurate soundstaging and depth.
Weakness:
None when used as suggested. Yes, they are a mini-monitor and will not reach 20HZ. I have been using these speakers for about 4 months now in a fairly small listening room and have been extremely satisfied with the results. I still cannot believe how little these speakers actually cost when you listen to them and witness what they can do. Soundstaging, depth, accuracy, and a musicality that will absolutely draw you into the music. Similar Products Used: JM Lab Cobalt, Dynaudio, and B&W |
