Strength:

Amazing Sound Quality for the price. Goes very well with british equipment. ie. NAD (www.nadelectronics.com) or Denon

Weakness:

Sound is just a tich too bright and it could have a somewhat "stronger character" but hey .. it's $160 US

I was going to spend $500 on the centre since most of the movie action is there, including voice, being the critical element in a movie. If you can't understand the dialogue, well that's not exactly desirable. Anyway, after I found this one on sale, I had to buy it. It can handle quite a bit of power... even if you have playing alone, you CAN feel it... not just hear it.

Strength:

Clarity

Weakness:

Lack of bass

Amazing speaker for its size and price point. Dialog is clear and precise, open and airy. I really liked this speaker in Dolby 5.1 with lots of dialog. However, when bass is required directed from the center (try the beginning of the 3rd chapter of Mission Impossible 2 where the flamenco dancers move from the center to the surrounds), the speaker really shows its weakness. May work well with small left/right main speakers, but with my mid-sized speakers(B&W DM620i), the center was not up to the task.

I also did not particularly think it was strong enough to support Dolby Surround processed from cable TV... this is almost totally out of the center, and the lack of bass shows.

Compared to the DM600IFS, it produced much clearer and airy highs. For example in chapter 1 of MI2 when the pilot clicks the altitude down, every click is crystal clear, whereas with the DM600 IFS, I never knew the clicks were so prominent. The DM600 IFS bass though more than makes up for it. Hopefully I can compare to a cc6 soon.

Great value, but there are better centers out there.

Strength:

Clarity / detailed. Really good for voices.

Weakness:

For such a small speaker, it's obviously short of bass.

I love this center speaker. It can go loud, sounds clear and precise. Looks good also. You should match this one with two B&W305's and B&W302's. Your amp can route the bass <80Hz to your sub or front speakers so you won't notice it's weakness.

Oops!!! I am so used to writing bad bose reviews that I accidently gave 1 star on my last review. Anyone reading the previous review take note, I had full intention of giving 5 stars for both catagories. Sorry guys!!!

Strength:

Small size and price for a dazzling sonic performance.

Weakness:

At this price point, I fail to see any reason to complain. Especially since this costs LESS than the Bose VC-10, which is perhaps the worst CC speaker on the face of the earth.

2 pairs of DM-302s a CC-3 and an ASW 500 will get you an unbeatably affordable start into the HT world for under $1200. You could also use the starter HSU sub, which at $500 is asthetically appropriate and outstanding for the price. With systems like the one I just mentioned, its amazing that scam artists like bose continue to exist.

I'm a beginning home theatre enthousiast, and busy with building a 5.1 system gradually. I have the CC3 for just a week and experienced several DVD's with it. The sound is perfect, having the price in mind. My set consist of: Onkyo TS-DS555 receiver, Sony DVP-S325, and the B&W DM302's.
The CC3 really gives a good focus on what's happening on the screen; it's agreat addition for any beginning home theatre enthuosiast.
Rent 'Outbreak' for instance. Great chopper sounds (hey!, choppers were made
for todays action movies! -just kidding-). My next step will be the ASW5
sub from B&W.
Rating for the CC3: 4 (considering price/quality)

Strength:

This is a wonderful little speaker, as little as it is it really packs a punch for a small center speaker, It is also designed very well, ur spouse will not disagree with the appearence of this speaker.

Weakness:

It has a paper driver, but that doesnt really stop this powerful little baby

Oh my God, this is defianatly another homerun by B&W Loudspeakers!!! IF your looking for a great small speaker, and not just cause you cant afford a bigger one, I hear that this speaker sounds and looks better than its big brother the cc6-s2!!! This is a great speaker!!! for anyone!!!
trust me!!!
