Strength:

Great clear sound. Looks damn cool with the grill off.

Weakness:

None so far.

I love this speaker. Voices are very clear. Enough sound for a mid sized theater. On Gladiator, the sound is very impressive. The swords zing and clang like I haven't heard before. I hear little things in many movies that I missed on other centers. I'd give it a 4 1/2, leaving a half star for improvement. I don't have mine bi-wired,by the way,and it still sounds great.

Strength:

Solid Fit and Finish
High Quality Components
Seamless Integration

Weakness:

Will Sound "Lackluster" when used with lower level components i.e integrated circuit amplification

Well it seems like the bandwagon of stupidity has begun. This nefarious trend of bashing something of quality, which can also be seen on NAD's 214 amp review on this site, is truly perplexing. Obviously, if this speaker is mated with a JVC, lower level Pioneer,etc.., what will be produced will not give any indication of the speaker's potential. However, if given power they sound quite neutral and accurate. Unfortuately, accurate may not be "in your face" enough for some. Anyway, I know it is lacking the Nautilus waveguide tweeter which means the port is in the front. However, this may be a benefit given how close to wall boundaries center speakers are. All in all good enough given the price.

Strength:

Natural voice reproduction
Excellent match to 602 S2
Perfect size, not bulky like the LCR6
Better horizontal dispersion than the LCR6

Weakness:

Cost: $350 is a bit much, find one used for < $250

I admit that I was weary about purchasing the CC6 S2 after reading the 12 reviews posted here so far. Everyone seems to suggest upgrading to the LCR6, stating that it is a better match to the 601,2,3 S2s.

After purchasing the CC6 S2 I was delighted to find that the negative reviews on this sight were grossly overstated. The CC6 S2 keeps up superbly with my 602 S2s and provides a near seamless frontal soundstage.

Some might object because the CC6 S2 does not reproduce as low of frequencies as the 602. I found that by setting all three front speaker's cut-off to the THX recommended 80 Hz and giving the lower frequencies to the sub made them blend and match even better.

As for the LCR6, the speaker is a beast compared to the 601 and 602, and when placed horizontally (which I supposed most people would prefer) it only has a 10 degree horizontal arc as opposed to the 20 degree arc of the CC6. The purpose of the center channel is to allow the listener in any part of the room to hear the on-screen action coming clearly from the TV. Clearly, the LCR6 will only perform correctly for viewers almost directly in front of the TV.

I would suggest going to check out a professional review for the CC6 on a site such as ecoustics.com for a more informed review.

The B&W engineers specifically designed the CC6 to be used with any speaker in the 600 series, and it sounds wonderful. Save yourself the 200 bucks and the pain of using a huge center channel, and pick yourself up a CC6 S2.

Strength:

Quality, price, and overall performance

Weakness:

long break-in 50 hr

I didnt't like the long break-in period, but after that the speaker really came to life. It does help bi-wiring the speaker, it makes the highs sound much better. For what I paid for the speaker, it was definitely a bargin.

Strength:

Great looks and build quality.

Weakness:

Dialog and lack of punch.

Buy the LCR6-S2 or CC3. Read below for explanation.

After reading reviews on this web site I decided to buy the CC6-S2. Even though I'd read the great reviews of the LCR6-S2, I was swayed by price.....big mistake. I had the CC6-S2 for a month (on loan due to lack of B&W stock while I waited for mine to arrive) and found it disappointing. The CC6-S2 handled music rather well, but when I had friends over to watch "The Matrix" for its first big test, I was unimpressed when someone said "What did he say, I didn't quite catch that". Generally I have found the dialog from this speaker "lacking", and have had to play the center channel at +5db to get acceptable performance. Given the relative price of this speaker I was expecting a lot, lot more. After a week with the CC6 I went and auditioned the LCR6-S2 alongside the CC6. Wow, what a difference. I immediately changed my order to the LCR6.

If you are on a budget, I recommend the CC3. Great dialog (as required of a center), but you will probably want to route the bass to your main speakers or get a subwoofer.

However, if you want an exceptional center, the LCR6-S2 is the only way to go.

Strength:

Sound and built qualities.

Weakness:

Hardly any.

Perfect match for the B&W 603 S-2 for main, and B&W 302 for surrounds.

The average "100 watts/channel" Japanese designed amp/receiver that you get from major chain electronics stores WILL NOT give them justice.

When paired with decent (and inexpensive electronics, like NAD or Rotel.) The B&W 300 and 600 S-2 series *REALLY* kick ass. Especially with DTS and DD5.1.

Please read my reviews on the NAD T-760 receiver, B&W 603 S-2, B&W 302 on this site for more.

When *TRUE* music, sound, budget, and, built qualities are the main issues, for both music and movies; then, look no further.

You can never go wrong with mid-lines B&W speakers and NAD electronics. Especially if when price and *real* qualities are major concerns.

Killer budget A/V system. Will blows away most others costing 2 to 3 times more. When *properly* set up.

Highly recommanded.
