Strength:
Clear dialouge, b&w seems to always get the vocals right.
Weakness:
It's a big imposing box, that is a little hard to place in system, but is well worth it. I purchased this speaker about 3 month's ago and it is properly broken in now.I have to say this is one of the finest center speaker in it's price range, vocals are clear, detalied and dynamic even at loud volumes. It is a perfect match for my pair of b&w 603s3 front speakers. Sound great so far
Weakness:
Heavy and big Just got my new center today. My old is now history. I swapped my mission m77c and got this baby. I can´t tell you how it performs yet. But it´s HUGE and HEAVY! I think it´s going to kill my Sony Kv32FX65. Got it on top of it! Similar Products Used: Mission 77c |

Strength:
price/value ratio sound
Weakness:
tall, a bit heavy. it requiers either a shelf or a stand. I disaggree its placement on a tv I use this center speaker with a pair of 602s2s and i must say that any audible sonic difference is caused by the limited playing hours of this speaker. It also helps that i have them all hooked up to a sony 840 reciever, that doesn't amplify any signal above 20 kHz. i would have preffered a wider range on axis, more than 10 degrees, but then you can't expect much on this price. Of course, it's not full-spec, but then again, don't expect much difference in movies, especially if you own a sub. Great speaker! Similar Products Used: dm-cc6, cdm-cnt |

Strength:
Power and clarity. Excellent performance with the Marantz 6200.
Weakness:
This sucker is big and heavy. I use it vertically on top of a 32" TV and it is rather menacing looking. I purchased this center channel speaker to use with two rebuilt Infinity Column II mains, B&W 601 S2 rears, a Velodyne HT10 sub and a Marantz 6200 receiver. After using a Polk HT set for two years I can't believe how fantastic my current setup sounds. I never knew about break-in periods for speakers but have noticed that the overall sound of my systems is becoming more pleasing with use. The 600 S3 is spectacular with 5.1 and DTS movies. The sound is clear and powerful. The overall effect with the 601 in the back is impressive. I just had the woofers resealed on my Infinitys and they sound excellent with the other speakers. I highly recommend the B&W LCR600 S3! Similar Products Used: Small Polk 6200 center |

Weakness:
none except the box could be in real wood. Bought this centre to match the 602s3 fronts and man this speaker is heavy and large but suits perfectly the 602s3's.When i play movies the clarity is supurb and in 5 channel stereo is great. I had a problem with interference with my 80cm lg tv.I had to put the speaker under the cabinet away from the tv to stop the tv going green in some places. At the top when the speaker was above the tv i had some red and purple flaming of the tv and when i took the speaker away it went away but put it back and it returned.I flipped the speaker and it was still there but only on one side if i slided the speaker to the right corner it didnt affect the right side just the left side. I took it to the importer and they tested it on a tv there and no problems at all.He told me the tv might need degaussing so i went to where i bought the tv they told to switch the tv off at the switch and not the remote for a few days and it should somehow degauss it.I done that and the problem disappeared i now have the speaker on top of the tv.I think even the best shielded speakers would have an affect when it is so close to the tv.But now it is fine. The speaker is a good size if you want a big system and is a clear and excellent choice for the price i dont know of another speaker with this much for so little.Buy one you will appreciate the quality. Strength:
Dynamic, warm, effortless, great sonic match, looks gorgeous.
Weakness:
Fairly hefty, but at least it looks meaty. Long break in. I can't understand the previous review. The sheilding on this speaker is flawless. There is no distortion whatsoever on the TV screen. I suspect you have a faulty speaker. I have to say that i was blown away by this speaker. I've listened to a lot of centre chanels including the LCR60 which is the model below this one and the old CC6 S2. And this is simply amazing for performance relative to cost. The sound is so dynamic, warm and punchy. Also there is never a feeling of it sounding slightly boxxy or constrained. I found the LCR60 sounded this way when used under higher volumes. Everything is effortless, and it's nice to have this cushion. It's an ideal partner to the rest of the Series 3 speakers with good sonic continuity. Considering 70% of the sound comes from this channel when veiwing DVD/TV/GAMES, i felt this purchase was pretty justified. There's nothing worse than being unsure about the capability of the centre channel. That happened to me with the old CC6. Terrible speaker. Similar Products Used: LCR60, CC6. Many others. |

Strength:
Good sound.
Weakness:
Poor value. Not sheilded well. The sound is good but I'm very disappointed in value vs dollar. This speaker is not shielded very well, it requires at least 7 inches of space away from the TV (you can't set in on top of the TV). Be aware that the matching B&W 601 S3 speakers are not sheilded at all and if you are using them for surround sound, you have to have so much distance away from the TV (to prevent distortion) that the sound doesn't fit the screen. |

Strength:
Crystal clear dialogue. Able to handle large amounts of power. Frickin'''' huge!
Weakness:
Frickin'''' huge! I bought this as a partner to my 603 mains, and it has done the job. Driver size is the same, so this is the best combo other than 3 LCR''''s for the front soundstage. Dialogue is exceptionally clear, soundstage is wide. You better have a RPTV or place for a large stand--this is the largest center I have ever seen, nearly as big as my 603''''s. Strength:
B&W mystique, the Kevlar yellow drivers look cool, the whole speaker set looks great with the grills off, excellent performance for this price range, sonic quality, refined sound. Buying anything from B&W adds exclusivity from all those Canadian companies and mass produced equipment sold at Best Buy/Circuit City/Ultimate Electronics etc...
Weakness:
None really for the features and price. Watch out for local retail stores like "Sounds Like Music" in Arizona that have a monopoly on the local market. They are untrustworthy in the way they do business. It really hurts the quality B&W name and reputation if their retail stores are providing this kind of disservice. First thing''s first: this speaker is huge! Make sure you have the proper accomodations for this massive center channel/surround/left/right speaker. -Cosmetics/Appearance- Wow, this speaker has a real wood veneer; it looks and feels just like wood. As you “knock” on the speaker box, it sounds solid. It has a heavy/solid feel to it when you pick it up. The connections on the back of the speaker is first rate gold plated hardware! This is a real quality speaker, and as I stated in the “Strengths”, this whole set looks amazing with the speaker grills off. Unpacking this speaker is a real treat. B&W does a phenomenal job of packing their products and the accessories and manual are all packed smartly. In comparison to the JM Labs, the JMs look tacky. The PSBs look cheap and look like the old Infinity RS Series. The Paradigms look cheap as well and the gray front casing just does not look fashionably correct. Of course the biggest emphasis of purchasing a speaker is its sonic quality, but you have to admit that appearance is also a major purchasing factor. -Sound- This speaker is excellent; very refined, clean and smooth. The sound is a little laid back right now due to the fact that it is not completely broken in. But after a couple days of listening I can already hear it starting to warm up nicely. I had a hard time deciding whether or not to buy the Paradigm Monitor 7s with the Monitor Mini and CC-370. But to be honest the only thing going for the Paradigm Monitors was the price (although they do sound fantastic). Bass response is fast and smooth. Trebles are clear; this speaker is NOT bright sounding at all.
