This is definitly the best center in this price range, but if you have a tough amp for feed the 42c. This little thing is amazing in clarity ,punch and speed. I have been using it for 5 years with many different front Dynaudio speakers: T2.5, 3.0, 1,3, 1,1, 1.3se and finaly the excellent sp25 and the A42c is still able to match very correctly. It needs of course solid amp, I used first an old Nad 2600 150w (or 500w bridged but less pure when bridged) and now it works perfectly with a 100% class D Flying mole DAD M100 (160w for 4ohm).

Strength:
Good soundstage and imaging. Good bass response. Good looking aesthetically - Real Wood Veneer.
Weakness:
Efficiency is 86dB at 4 ohms - Needs high current amp. The Audience series is a good sounding speaker. It performs better than any other speakers I've auditioned - Polk, PSB,Paradigm, etc. The soundstage and imaging is good, it brings movies into life. It handles bass pretty well for a bookshelf speaker. the only trade-off is the impedance and efficiency of the speaker, you'll need a high current amp to drive this. Similar Products Used: Bose, PSB, Paradigm |

Weakness:
Not enough bass. This is a skinny version of Dynaudio''s 42 that I was using with a pair of 62''s. The sound is clean, but I felt the speaker didn''t have enough ambience to make you feel like the scene is unfolding in front of you. I eventually upgraded to a 122C with which I''m really happy. |
