Strength:
Very clear and crisp.
Weakness:
None so far! Great sounding center channel I love the sound it reproduces it's very clear and claen. I have exl25 for my fronts and exl16 for my rears and they sound incredible togather. I wish they still made the front and rears I have, would buy more for my other rooms. |

In a way, I''''m dissapointed with myself because I waited so long to buy this center. I previosuly was using a Sony Center channel. What a difference! I had no idea a center channel could sound so rich and deep! The transition between my exl-26''''s and the exl-c is seamless. before I had to constantly adjust the volume level between action scenes and dialogue scenes. Now, it just all comes togeather. Five stars all around! System: Exl-26 fronts Exl-C center Yamaha surrounds JBL PB12 sub Yamaha RX-V596 reciever AWIA DVD Similar Products Used: Sony (ugh) Old Boston |

Strength:
Precise sound reproduction.
Weakness:
For the money, none. I recently purchased the e: XL C to replace the Take 1.2 center channel speaker in my Take 5.2 system. Athough the e: XL C is recommended for use with other Energy e: XL speaker systems, I have found it to be a very nice compliment to the 2.2 satelite speakers and the S8.2 subwoofer. Tremendous improvement over the 1.2 center channel speaker, which I consider an impressive unit in light of it''s size. The e: XL C has brought warmth, clarity, and a greater sense of realism to my existing system. Similar Products Used: Energy Take 1.2 Bose Polk |

Strength:
Clarity, price
Weakness:
A little bright so far I replaced a low budget JBL center with the eXL C and am amazed at the clarity and range of the Energy. It is still a little bright, but I have only had it about a week. I am using Boston VR940's as my mains and the energy center actually matches up well and sounds alot better than the equivalent Boston center. For the proce this is definitely the best center channel I've heard. Similar Products Used: JBL |

Strength:
Great sound for the price
Weakness:
Overpowered by higher-class speakers This center is great if you match it with like speakers (Energy's e:XL line). I used to use it wit e:XL-16s and was happy. However, when I moved up to the Energy Connoisseur line of speakers, the e:XL-C was outmatched, the mains were too powerful for it. So if you have a "mid-level" speaker system, the e:XL-C is perfect. If you have an "high-level" to "audiophile" system, you might want to look at a more powerful center channel (I will be auditioning Energy's AC300 which is supposed to match my C6s) Similar Products Used: Energy e:XL-16 |

Strength:
clarity and appearance
Weakness:
none apparant I have had a couple energy Connoisseur Series C-6 as my main speakers for a couple of years. I've been very happy with them for both home theatre, CD, and I also pump my two turntables via a Rane mixer through them as well. I recently upgraded to an Onky 676 with DTS, so I needed to get a center channel. Since installing it, I realize what I've been missing. The transition from L+R to the center is seamless. Great buy, and I'm still impressed with Energy overall. Similar Products Used: Demo'd lots of generic brands |

Strength:
Crystal clear mids and highs - exactly reproduces the sound intended for a centre channel
Weakness:
NONE. I bought the JBL N-centre for $200, then talked a salesman at another store into selling me the xl-c for the same price. I took them both, and compared them side by side. This is really the only way to compare two products (DO IT WITH YOUR SYSTEM, NOT AT THE STORE - they have clever ways of altering the sound so you buy what they make the most commision on) Similar Products Used: JBL N-centre |

Strength:
Good Imaging, Great frequency response, loud enough for mid sized room
Weakness:
none This center channel is great, voices sound realistic and it reaches low enough to reproduce the music from movies very well. This center channel, in my opinion, far surpasses the JBL S-Center. It is smaller and has much better performance. I used to be a big JBL fan but now I realize how inferior they can be. Similar Products Used: JBL S-Center, Low-end Klipsch Center |
