I have owned the FA 62.0 since i bought it as a center channel from AC4L about 8 years ago. The guy who sold it to me on the site said that they would go very well with my Marantz SR 8200 purchase which was a top notch machine. Was he ever right! This is absolutely one of the best purchases I have ever made in audio. My friends who come to my home when they listen to my system always say that my center channel absolutely dominates the speaker system I have. The voices just seem to float from the speaker and the dialogues are so crystal clear I have never had to so much as to move them or adjust them. These speakers are flawless and they weigh a ton. When I have to ask people to see the model number in the back, I tell them to be very careful since nobody expects these speakers to be so heavy.

Strength:
the best center channel speaker i have heard. This thing is heavy mind you - meaning sturdy construction.
Weakness:
no weaknesses at all at this price. I heartily endorse the reviewer's comments below. I am using this as my center channel and it blows me away that it is sucha steal. I am still trying to find other FA speakers to buy because I am afraid others will find it and hoard it. These speakers have absolutely the best bass and mid range I have ever heard. The dialogues on DVD across clearly and when I am listening to music in 3 channel stereo, the singer's voice and tone come across beautifully. Prior to these speakers I auditioned B&W', Bose, Definity and countless others. All of them cost me an arm and a leg but this speaker is a fraction of that cost and still blows them away. Buy and try it. You will believe it. Similar Products Used: B&W, Bose, Definity |

Strength:
Perfect, distortion free sound. High power tolerances (grossly under-rated at 200W!). Super heavy build quality. RIDICULOUS PRICES AVAILABLE ON THESE THINGS.
Weakness:
Zero name-recognition. Fosgate Audionic's parent corporation is having financial troubles--a little searching on the web will turn up a "request for financing" .pdf document prepared for prospective venture capitalists (because nobody knows they exist, they don't end up selling much product. its hard to succeed when nothing sells). These are the deal of the century. Note: The price I listed includes shipping from Tampa Fl to Seattle WA. Stop worrying about it and buy as many of these as you can find. They will not be around for much longer, and you should kick your own ass if you do not end up owning a full set of these for your home theater. The MSRP is $449 per. At that price, they would be worth every penny. Right now, you might be able to find them on eBay and I know accessories4less has them for $129 (which is still an absolute steal). Given the space, I would purchase this speaker 7 times in building my 7.1 system. They are so perfectly clear, and can be played at such high volumes with zero distortion that it is actually pleasurable to play them LOUD. Conversely, you can set the volume to whisper quite, and experience zero degradation in detail or balance. Let space dictate your final set-up, but do not waste your time buying anything but the FAxx.0 speakers for your set up. I absolutely guarantee you will not be disappointed. MY PRIME CONCERNS PRIOR TO PURCHASE, AND WHAT ULTIMATELY INFLUENCE MY (VERY GOOD) DECISION TO BUY THESE: Read these, because your concerns were likely similar to my own. *UNKOWN BRAND, HARD TO FIND INFORMATION. *Conclusion: Its owned by the guy who literally invented surround sound. They only design/build high-end home theater components. There is no "entry-level" equipment. These speakers are not an exception. To have an idea of the rest of the *extremely* small product line (how's 2-3 products available at any given point in time!), look up the FAP-V1 (ever heard of a vacuum tube 7.1 pre-amp digital to analog processor? only 50 were made, selling for $13,000). Or, check out their low-end products, like the FAP-T1+ (yes, the plus is part of the name). *SUSPICIOUSLY LOW PRICE *Conclusion: High-End equipment + poor marketing (no name-recognition) + poor distribution (where can you buy/see this stuff?) = an incredible opportunity to buy for pennies on the dollar. *SUSPECT QUALITY. Again, look at the price. *Conclusion: The specs don't lie. Find the specs on any search, and you'll be blown away. Hafler (which is sold to the professional recording/movie production set) designed and produced one of the most highly acclaimed studio monitors of all time. The FA61.0 is the exact same speaker. The FA62.0 is the FA61.0 with an additional 6" woofer. Why does it matter that the entire line of fosgate speakers ending in ".0" are essentially monitors? Because in sound production, you want to know exactly what sounds are being recorded with zero distortion. Speakers are built to "sound good" according to the preferences of the manufacturer or designer. There is no room for personal taste when your job is to produce the best possible recording. These speakers produce a damn-near perfect frequency response across most of the audible spectrum above 60hz. *WARRANTY ISSUES. *Conclusion: You will never need it. Seriously. These speakers are made with the finest components, and are extremely well built. I cannot stress to you how impressive they are. Fit and finish, materials, weight, component quality, etc. You're going to get them, give yourself a hernia setting them up, and you're going to have them until you die. Don't tell your kids who gets them in the will, or somebody may be killed. Similar Products Used: B&O, Bose, JBL, Infinity |
