Strength:
Crisp Highs
Weakness:
Limited Upper Bass I enjoyed this speaker for quite a while but was always bothered by a mid-upper bass gap. I think it would probably be okay with a smaller sub (I have a 15" sub). I moved up to the CC-3 and am completely happy. This speaker reproduces sound in its range very well and would recommend it to anyone. |

get better lol youll see after owning for about 6 mos--i got the il36 from infinity--after living with cc1 it became boxy and pinchy sounding--didnt blend well with my rs5000 mains--NOW lolo the 36c--OR the 25c will blow you aWAY at same volume levels-as far as quality in sound goes-tho not cheap!!!! and the il25 will do as well in smaller rooms--both are a step up - a MAJOR step up in sound quality from the cc1--to me the cc1 is meant as a center for the small satillite speakers--NOT for a decent set of main speakers--here the old equasion comes in--WHY mate a cheap 150.00 spkr with a set of expensive mains?lol --we keep trying but our ears bring us back to reality lol - you GET what you pay for Similar Products Used: klh |

Strength:
small,compact, no hiss
Weakness:
hollow sounding I recently upgraded from Dolby prologic to Dolby digital. I had the Audio Source VS1 center channel, a cheap speaker. Though cheap, the VS1 has a pretty good sound but also had quite a bit of hiss when used with my new receiver. Wanting to spend less than 200 dollars for a center speaker, I looked at three models:the Infinty CC1, Polk CS175 and Polk CS245. The Polk CS245 was out of stock so I decided to give the Infinity CC1 a try. In its favor, the CC1 exibited no hiss that I could detect. The sound was solid and dialog was generally clear, but there was something about the sound that just was'nt right. It seemed to have a kind of hollow quality to it that I could'nt get used to, so despite it not exibiting hiss, I returned it after two weeks. I have since gotten the Polk CS175, which ranges in price from 99 to 150 dollars. Even though the Polk only has a single 5.25 in driver instead of the usual two, it has a much richer, fuller sound than the CC1 while maintaining excellent clarity for such an inexpensive speaker. I would only consider the CC1 if you have other Infinity main speakers of similar sonic characteristics. Similar Products Used: Audio Source VS1, Polk CS175 |

I just bought the CC1 because I listen mostly to music but wanted something cheap for movies. The CC1 does its main job well, voices are clear and defined, however it is nothing special. For the money, it"s a good beginner center channel. |

Strength:
Clear Mids and Highs
Weakness:
Soft sounding I am using this as my center channel in my Dolby Digital System. When compared to my old JBL center, this one plays much clearer, but softer. It matches quite well with my other speakers, but it is soft and I have to turn up the center channel quite a bit to hear the dialogue. My old JBL Center was not as clear, but quite a bit louder for dialog. The JBL was good for Pro-Logic, but not for Dolby Digital. This is a good center channel for the money, but I wish it was a bit louder. Similar Products Used: JBL Center |

After reading some of the real audiophile reviews, I've decided that I'm more of an audio enthusiast. The CC-1 is a solidly built, gutsy center channel that can hold its own among most small speakers. It sounds less bright than my RS-1's, which actually adds to the overall smoothness of the sound. The RS-1's sound a little harsh in comparison, which is why I always listen to music in Prologic mode. Try to get it for half off, and you've gotten yourself quite a deal! |

i purchased this speaker " refurbished " (looked like new) from ubid. for $ 52. this is an entry level center speaker for entry level ht systems. this is certainly not a center speaker that an "audiophile" would purchase. i am very satisfied with the performance of this speaker. it delivers good sound reproduction in its intended home theater use. i don't believe it was designed to deliver strong musical performance given the 4 in. driver/ 1/2 in. tweeter size. infinity makes the cc-2 & cc-3 speakers for improved performance. for its intended purpose and the price i paid it was a bargain. 3 stars for performance - 5 stars for price and a 4 star average. |

i recently purchased this speaker " refurbished " from ubid. for $ 50. when it arrived the condition of the speaker looked new. i knew what i was getting as i listened to this speaker at cc before buying. this isn't a speaker that an " audiophile " would purchase for their ht system , especially for musical considerations. it is a budget speaker for a small area or inexpensive system. infinity makes the cc-2 and cc-3 center speaker for those wanting improved performance. as far as better sound from a " boombox " , come on. jbl hls speakers hardly qualifies as " audiophile " equipment. a true " audiophile " wouldn't even give this speaker consideration. it does what it was designed to do very well. i'll give it 3 stars for audio ( re: ht use ) performance. for $ 50. i'll give it a solid 5. but seeing that this is an audio review , i'll post a 3. |
