I is my understanding the CM series was created as a special line for ONSALE.COM and are essentially identical, except for model number, to the AC series product according to an inside source. The CM WIDECENTER lists for $400.00, but can be purchased for around $129.00 to $159.00 at auction and it is an absolute steal at this price. It consists of a black woodgrain 25 3/4 inch wide enclosure with priemium gold plated heavy duty binding post connectors that supply power to four 4" mid-base drivers and a supreme 1" softdome tweeter. To my ear this center provides the best definition and crystal clarity without harshness of anything I've auditioned under $500.00. It remains effortless even in the loudest passages, yet has a mellow very natural voice while maintaining detail, and is seemingly more efficient than its 90 db specification. Dispersion is excellent. Many center channels stick out and are easy to "spot" along my 26 foot sound room wall, but not this one the sound stage just came alive across the breadth of the wall when I first began to bring up the center channel volume on the CM. You hear the music come alive not the speaker with the CM WIDECENTER.... not the speaker as has been my experience with others such as the Infinity CC-3. |

Strength:
Good Sounding. Gold binding posts. I just received this last night. I watched a couple of DVD's and it sounds just like I were in a movie theater. The sound is a little nasal as someone else pointed out, but voices sound nasal in movie theaters. For music, the sound is good. The build construction looks top notch. The speaker has four mid range speakers and one tweeter. It doesn't produce bass, but if you have good front speakers and a good subwoofer, you won't notice. Similar Products Used: Infinity Delta.
