My neighbor got scammed by those "van guys". He paid $300 for $20 speakers. What a dumbass! He thought they would sound as good as my M&K's. He hooked them up and they sounded worse than those cheap Fisher speakers. If only I could hook them up to my Adcom 555's!

Just today the same thing happened to me. I was driving on Lemay Ferry by Keller plaza and a guy yelled at me through my open window. He was driving a white mini van (GMC-I think). He said his boss ordered speakers and they gave him too many. He said they were a great deal. He showed me paper work saying they were worth $900. I talked him down to $200 for the pair. He said he was delivering the rest to a local bar. I had no idea this scam was going on until I saw this website. Spread the Word!!! I got screwed!!

Same thing here in Knoxville, TN. One guy in a mini-van, same fake story, same fake brochure. Paid $500 for four of them.

i was flagged down by two burly fellows that were drving a Ford Expedition in tampa, Florida. I thought they were trying to rob me so i pulled into the mobile gas station at the corner of Fowler Ave. and 30th street.
listened to their story about how they "accidently " were
given 12 sets by the warehouse, when they only ordered

i caved in and gave them 200 US and bailed.
evetually, i'll take them out of the box and use them.
i know 3 other people ( of course, after I bought them)
that had the same thing happen to them.

this is a pretty cool global scam, i guess...

OK, I got screwed too...but thank goodness not as bad as some people. I knew from the start that the two guys were scammers. The first guy first introduced himself as Issac and the second time he said his name was Ivan. He was latino. The scond guy had a Irish accent - scruffy looking dude. They were driving a Dodge Dorango with Oregon plates...and no I didn't get the plates. THe guy said the speakers went for $800 a pair. I told him I would give him $50 each. After telling me to #&ck off, he agreed on $100 each.
I new I could have been buying garbage but I knew from the start I would sell the speakers off on ebay and keep the box. For the most part, the box was nice looking...but ended up cheaper than I thought.

Less than an hour ago, I almost fell for this scam.
I had brought 4 speakers into my apartment and hooked them up, but not paid the guy.

I have a cable modem, so I decided to check on the Internet real quick to read a speaker review before paying them and got a 100 results about the scam.

He read the scam review, took his speakers and left. I didn't try to arrest him. They aren't stolen goods, so I don't know if you can arrest someone. Can you?

Anyway, blue-green SUV (tahoe?) riding around Berkeley, CA near campus. California License Tag is close to: 4PN185. Two guys, one white kid in baggy clothes and 1 Indian guy in nicer clothes, claim they are from Sacramento and work for OSHA entertainment systems. Have a bogus pink receipt filled out. Have to get speakers back to the boss. Someone didn't pick up. Sell them for $1000 on eBay.

They even claimed to have just avoided a scam themselves. Someone wanting to write them a bad check for the speakers!etc.

Thanks for posting you guys. You saved one person by inches from blowing $700.

I got scammed at the Local Best Buy. I was going there to buy speakers as a Christmas present for my parents. Two guys in a Black Ford Explorer approached me and gave me the same song and dance. I finally decided that for $150 dollars it was a good deal. Like most of you when I got home and tried to find this speakers on the internet I began to get pissed. The speakers I bought were by Acoustic Technology and were Studio Monitors DL 6.2. Please be careful of any product made by "Acoustic". These guys are scum and will pay later. There really is Karma and trust me these ass holes have pilled up a whole lot of bad karma.

Well, two guys in a white van sold me this. You've heard the story. He swore to god that he was not ripping me off. I managed to get him to give me the pamplet that says the price and everything.
As soon as I got to work 15 minutes later, I found that it was all a scam and faxed the request for the stop payment of the check. Unfortunately, right after they sold me the speakers, they made a B-line for the bank. Those pricks! I was too late.
I have sent reports to all of the news stations in Austin, so hopefully they will expose this scam. If I ever see that van again, I am calling the cops.
The speakers do look high quality from the outside, but they are really just pieces of sh1t. These punks are going down.

Because I live pay check to paycheck and didn't really have the money to pay for these I lost my girlfriend and am being evicted from my apartment like a dumbass!
