Strength:
Very accurate but smooth. Surprising amount of bass for the size.
Weakness:
Doesn't have a lot of range (but of course they are small). I think these things are the best you can get in the small sub/sat class. a/d/s/ has had them in their line for a long time so have had plenty of time to fix and problems. I use them in my secondary system with the Sub 6 and they are GREAT. They do a tremendous job with music, but are able to handle video as well. They are just very detailed and smooth in their presentation. Far better than the small B&W or Celestons; more like Totems. I wouldn't even put them in the same class as Bose (Over-hyped and Over-priced) speakers that sound like mid-fi Bestbuy specials at best. Its just unfortunate that the company has fallen on hard times as a result of some poor decisions and some bad luck. If you can find a pair for less than $200; grab them. They just sound great, especially when paired with a WELL MATCHED sub. Similar Products Used: NHT Zero, Super Zero, B&W 500, Celeston 7, a/d/s/ L300, Atlantic Technology 152LR |

Having very limited space for my stereo system I needed to buy a sub/sat system. Of course my first choice was the Bose AM5 series, but after listening to them for long periods of time, they just didn't sound as good. I then purchased a set of A/D/S sub/sat. For $200 less they sounded better than the AM5's for both surround sound and music. When in the market for sub/sat systems remember that Bose is not the only one out there. For comparative price and quality, I have to give these baby's a 5. |
