I just replaced 4 6.5" subwoofers in my Advent Laureate floor cabinets. I replaced them w/ Dayton Audios "classic" subwoofer from Parts-express out of Dayton audio. The speakers dropped in nicely and the lows have nice punch. 808 bass hits hard. These speakers haven't sound this good in years. The staff at parts-express were really helpful. The reason for my post is to help anyone looking to replace these speakers, these Dayton Audios "classic" 8 ohn subs will fit nicely. They are a true sub and not a mid bass just to clarify. All 4 subs were replaced for under $95. The delivery was supper fast too.

Advent Laureates speaker replacements 8 ohm 6.5" Dayton Audio "classic" subwoofer $20 each

hope someone finds this helpful -steve

I bought these Laureates basically for the cabinets as the speakers barely worked due to being rotted out. Was able to find brand new PYLE 6 1/2" replacement speakers of the same specs. They dropped in perfectly with no modifications. The speakers now sound fantastic with excellent sound quality. I paid $125 for these speakers because the cabinets were in excellent shape and got a good deal on the replacement speakers since I bought 4. Well worth the investment! I could never buy anything like these Laureates for the money I have invested replacing the 4 speakers. The front grills are also in excellent shape.

Strength:

Quality sound and impeccable finish. Great looks. Give them decent quality electronics such as Yamaha, Onkyo, Denon or better, and you'll be highly rewarded.

Weakness:

For the money I could not find any.

This review is for a pair of ADVENT LAUREATE. For their price point, they are solid performers: thight and satisfying bass, convincing middles and crisp highs. Good soundstage and accuracy. Outstanding imaging, especially for the money. At home w/classical music or rock. Warm and detailed sound, especially reproducing voices.
