I have recently purchased a pair of these new Active monitor speakers from ATC.At 30kg each and 300W built-in amplification the sound from these small speakers is awsome.

I would like to hear comments and suggestions from other lucky owners with regards to preamplification, stands and so on...

I heard a carefully staged, 2-3 hour demonstration at the local Seattle retailer of the ATC20 active loudspeaker and all on hand, including the staff, agreed the sound was awful. Various cables, spikes and electronics were tried; no explanation surfaced. I auditioned favorite acoustic bass recordings (Haden, Meyer) and they sounded tubby, unnatural and were missing all the dynamics and the feel of the tempo-- a $10k failure.

These little lovelies found me very ready for music. Good dynamics and overall sense of discipline. Strong midrange and very hard bass helped me come to terms with certain problems in my life (like Gerald and his "friendship" with Cecil). Still, back to the speakers I should go now. Even though they sang like swans, I wanted to go home to my new friend Henry. And that's all for today.

I own the ATC 20s for three months now and they certainly beat the pants off my Bose Wave radio. More dynamic, they are -- and certainly fuller sounding. Yes, there's no doubt they are winners.

I have a ATC 20 speaker, I like it very much. They are the best speakers I have heared.
