~ Fist off, I know this is an old posting... But, I have been looking all over for the Atlantic Technologies System 450 Series TXH system. Has anyone seen a listing or know who might have some available. I find limited information on this series of speakers, but, from what I hear the sound is unmatched. I have a substantial theater room and am looking for a system like the Atlantic 450 THX to fill the room with sound. I want to feel like I'm at the theater! Can anyone shed some light on what I might expect to pay if I were to come across the Atlantic Technologies System 450 TXH system? Thanks in advance! Matt |

Strength:
Full, deep rich sound both on movies and music. You can hear sounds that you never knew were there.
Weakness:
Some of the high frequencies are lost at low volume and a little to deep for classical music The Atlantic 405e THX speakers truely bring out sounds that most other speakers leave out. The Boses just does not even come close. A friend has Martin Logans, which sound great on classical music, but try watching a movie with any action any cannot keep up. The 450e on the other hand is very tight, clean and transparent at all but the highest of frequences. I have these speakers in a medium sized room at their is no level of volume that they do not perform at. The only possible improvement is an adjustable crossover and or bi-wirablility, which some people prefer. The price is also one of the best features. You should be able to pick up the system minus the sub for about $2500, and for that price there is no comparason. Similar Products Used: nothing at this level only a BOSE speakers 10 |

Strength:
very clean, good for music and theater
Weakness:
not overly bright, but i like that The Atlantics are superb, transparent, true. I am running these with the Yamaha DSP A-1 and Monster cables, and couldn't be happier. Similar Products Used: Infinity, Genelec, Klipsch |

I'm one of those home theater junkies, who gets a yearning, or burning desire every few months to buy new gear, and sell off whatever I have at the time to get 'the next best thing.' |

I just finish listening to the 450s at a friend's home, and found them good for home theatre reproduction, but poor for 2 channel reproduction. My point of reference are the Infinity Composition Preludes which I owned. When I returned home I played the same material I heard on the 450s. The Infinitys simply outclassed the 450s although they are similarly priced. Specifically, the 450s were good on home theatre but were dark sounding and muddy on 2 channel music. The Infinitys are excellent on home theatre, and excellent on 2 channel music sounding detailed and much more muscially accurate. You would be crazy to purchase the 450s before auditioning the Preludes. The surpising thing is the Preludes have been in production since 1995 while the 450s have just been made. New is not always better. |

These speakers are state of the art when it comes to home theater. You will hear things with these that you never heard before. They provide a very enveloping experience, the surround speakers are especially good at providing great directionality. The front soundstage is seamless as you pan from side to side, and at placing sound on the sides between the front and surrounds. The 15" 325W sub pumps out bass you can feel. They are THX ULTRA certified so they can fill a large room. One of the things that I really like is the way they look, the black lacquer finish is gorgeous.I highly recommend them! |

All
Weakness:
None 450e the is no doubt the state fo the art. I achived the level of million hi-end speaker but with a relatively low price. Even if I pay double price than in U.S.A I still fell it's worth of the pirce both on music and home theater. Similar Products Used: Infinity,B&W N800 |
