I got them out of the back of an Explorer. That should about explain it. Their not the best but not crap. I should have listened to my freinds though and stayed away.

I got the 830 LR's for 150 a pair. And I had old sony's So I was happy to get them . Everyone's saying there not any good but for 150. off a van that beat's the high price's you pay at the stores or payment even. I have a Yamaha 500w DTS and they sound OK !!!!!

Solid bass (but not thump-da-house bass), very clear vocal. Beautiful box!

Probably still overpaid at $160! Bought into a scam. Makes you feel like a jackass afterwards, no matter how good the speakers sound.

About the scam : This product is sold as a scam. Why? Beacuse they really want several hundred dollars out of them. They told me $800 and $600...as a joke, I said "I'll give $160." They bickered for a minute amongst themselves, and then accepted. If you paid less than $200, I haven't heard other speakers that typically much better in that price range. Bottom line, they sound great. $1200 great? Hell no. $200 great? Definitely.

I got screwed. I see everyone else did the same thing I did. I thought this guy was on coke or something and I thought he jacked these or something. He showed me a catalog that said they were worth $1500 a peice.

Better then Mini Component system

Heavy as hell

Wow I'm glad I joined a fraternity of truck buying speakers. The fact that I only payed 40 bucks for them makes me feel good compared to some of the other prices I see on here. As just a casual listener these are good speakers. Especially since all I had before was a mini component system. I just need a small Onkyo reciever to push them a little more. But for 40 dollars I don't feel ripped off, long as they work longer then a few days.

I got these guys to accept a check. After reading these reviews, I'm glad that I still have time to void the check. I guess I'll turn the scam back on them. My friends and I should have known we were stepping into a scam when the two guys said they needed quick cash for the titty-bar. Stupidity in numbers.

If you would buy something as important as speakers off the street, chances are you won't notice the lack of sound quality. These speakers are a notch below top quality but far from garbage. The low end response is lacking for a dual 8 setup and the highs could use an upgrade but they are good speakers. By the looks of some of these reviews, it sounds like some people bought their amps off a truck too.

sloppy loose mid and bass. 400 max is untrue. distortion at low levels, let alone higher volume.

for the price i paid, which thankfully wasnt as much as some, overall quality is poor.
