Strength:
Beautiful high's, clean and powerful lows. You simply cannot beat the M3Ti's in this price range. You'll have to spend a couple hundred more to come close to this quality. Give them PLENTY of break in time though
Weakness:
None? I can't think of a single weakness yet. These truly are a "steal". You can not find a better speaker for the price of the M3Ti. The build quality is great. Beautiful Black Oak finish, Vortex porting, and quality Gold-plated 5-way binding posts, Axiom knows how to build a quality speaker. I couldn't believe the difference from my old Bose to the Axioms. The M3Ti's sound much, much better than they should at this price. They do take some time to break in, but once they do it pure bliss. The titanium tweeter produces such crisp and clean highs that I had to start re-listening to all of my CDs. The imaging is wonderful, closing your eyes tricks you into believing a band is right in your room. The amazing part about the M3Ti's is the amount of bass they put out. I wasn't expecting such clean, powerful bass. No boomming sloppy bass, but percise and clean. Read more reviews, they all sound the same. It even won the SoundStage!'s Reviewer's Choice award. |

Strength:
Price, Great sound, Surprisingly loud and full of bass.
Weakness:
None Ok call me crazy. I'm using these speakers for something they should probably never be used for, but I phoned the factory and they said give it a try. I have four of these in a 4,000 sq foot hall. Apparently they use these in their factory as PA speakers. They used to have horns, but everyone complained they couldn't understand a word that was being said. Yes, we use them for PA speakers. We usually have very few people there and I didn't want the harshness of PA speakers. The music we do is almost always live and fairly low key. Was I nervous - Yes, but no need, after all they had a money back guarantee and a host of good reviews. The sound is incredible. Big surprise though, just after we got them we had special night, fairly rocking band with almost 500 hundred young people singing along. No subwoofer, only these speakers. We arranged for PA speakers to be there in case they couldn't handle it. No problem - loud enough to be heard over 500 singing at the top of their lungs teens. Yes, we could have used more bass, but they worked. I know this is a crazy application, but it just goes to show, good speakers can do more than one thing. I'm happier with these than I have been with many PA speakers. Similar Products Used: Do your really want me to start naming PA speakers. OK Yorkville, Mackie, EV, Yamaha plus host of custom built stuff. |

Sound quality, build quality, customer service.
Weakness:
Umm... I'll let you know if I find one. Well, no use going into details... I'll just be reiterating what's been said. Absolutely amazing. Smooth like butter. They don't sound half bad out of the box, but let them break in and you'll be in audio bliss (I've only put in about 10 hours and the difference is very noticeable). Customer service was excellent. No tax in the US and free 2-day air and a 5 year warranty on "outlet speakers" - what more could you possibly ask for? As for these outlet units... one speaker has a TINY indentation on the GRILL and the other... well, I think it's an outlet speaker because there were a few threads of polyfill coming out of the screw hole, which I just unscrewed and stuffed in. Anyways, the sound quality is remarkable at this price. These speakers should have a 4-digit price tag - but I sure am glad they don't. Thanks Axiom! Strength:
Accuracy, efficiency, gorgeous mid range, sparkling highs, goes surprisingly deep. Good looking, great factory support.
Weakness:
Needs a nice subwoofer, properly set up and integrated, to make the M3Tis full range speakers. Audiophile sound quality for $220 (factory outlet price)! These speakers have the most beautiful mids I've heard - as good as my neighbor's Dynaudio bookshelves. The highs are balanced, accurate and sparkle. The M3Tis put out a surprising amount of bass for speakers of this size. They don't go down really low, but are accurate and pleasant down to their limit. I have a Velodyne 8" subwoofer which integrates beautifully with the M3Tis. With the sub properly set up, the Axioms sound like superb full range speakers. Music is accurately yet sweetly reproduced. When Getz/Jobim is playing, it sounds like live music in my living room. They are pretty efficient, no problem when driven by a 5 watt per channel Antique Sound Labs integrated tube amp. My pair has the cherry finish, and although I got mine through the Axiom Factory Outlet, I can't really find the cosmetic blemish. I think that if they don't have a Factory Outlet pair to fill your order, they'll just grab a pair of A stock and send them off. Dealing with the folks at Axiom is a pleasure. They're a friendly lot of music loving audophile Canadians who make great sound equipment. I guess the bottom line for me is that anyone can get a great sounding speaker for thousands of dollars. The challenge is finding a speaker which sounds as good but which costs a only few hundred. If you appreciate great sound quality and a great deal, get a pair of M3Tis, you won't be sorry. Similar Products Used: Michaura M55, Polk Rt25, Wharfedale Sapphires, except for the M55s, the Axioms are much better speakers. |

Strength:
Crisp highs, punchy lows, great tonal balance, noiseless port, fit and finish, CUSTOMER SERVICE
Weakness:
Probably a tad bright for most, I only give it a 4-star overall because of the vibration problem (QC?) A month ago I decided to replace my Wharfedale fronts. I also have a Jensen center, Sony rears, and a Velodyne sub run off a Samsung DVD player connected to a Technics receiver. After reading many, many raving reviews both here and in publications about this speaker I decided to purchase a pair and haven't looked back, almost. I was quite impressed with the initial listening tests. The lows are abit lacking compared to the larger Wharfedales but are just what I expected for a speaker this size. I also may need to move them a bit farther away from the walls but I'm unable to at the time. The tweeter is brighter than the Wharfedales at lower volumes but it is much crisper, something I like (probably due to the different tweeter material). I haven't run them very hard yet but I have no doubt that they can take it to very high levels just as the Wharfedales were able to. I have also listened to similar products from Boston, Monitor, and B&W. For one thing I haven't been too impressed by the B&W speakers I've listened to. They're unbalanced and lacking in midrange in my opinion. Compared to the Boston CR series they have similar lows/mids, punchy and well balanced but the Axioms had much better highs especially when listening to jazzy tunes. For those of you who also care about loks, the appearance of the Bostons is much cheaper, like they belong at Best Buy. The Axioms are well finished with flaws only on the allen screws used to hold the drivers in, very, very minor. I tested a set on Monitor, forgot which models, and are very similar. Crisp, well balanced and able to take it loud. The only real difference in the two was the price. For the features and sound the Monitors were about 100 bucks more. Only problem is that a buzzing developed in the woofers of both speakers and after nearly a week of checking every single thing I could and a call to customer service, it turns out that it is the magnet which has somehow come loose and is vibrating during tones around 200Hz. This is where their kick-ass customer service kicked in. They are shipping me a new pair of drivers, no questions asked. Can you ask for better service than that? I think not!!!!!!! Only time will tell if the problem occurs again in the new woofers but I still plan on purchasing the VP100 center and QS4 surrounds from Axiom. Clarity, midrange, highs
Weakness:
bass Well, I bought these speakers to replace my Paradigm Mini Monitors that were starting to become very fatiguing to my ears. After only 20 or 30 minutes of listening to the mini monitors my ears would begin to hurt, so I began my quest for another pair of bookshelves at the same price or cheaper and I came across these Axioms. I really wasn't expecting much at first, considering I only paid $240, but was I surprised. The midrange of these speakers was much much clearer than that of the mini monitors. Each instrument could be heard like it had its own seperate channel. I was absolutely amazed by this. The clarity of the midrange and highs is the reason I love these speakers. They kind of lack in the bass department, but that doesn't really matter because I have a sub. These babies are powered by a Marantz SR5200 by the way. Bottom line: There is NO better speaker for the money. Similar Products Used: Paradigm Mini Monitors |

soundstage and sweetness as good as your source...
Weakness:
clearity to brightness due to speaker charachteristics no speaker is perfect. WOW unbelieuvably over the years I've been looking to rebuild my system and these are the most ear-enticing speakers other than my previously owned Kef 104.2s ...tried all the gambit in small and mid-size floor less than 1500$ Mission,Tanny. Paradigm etc etc....to the point of getting sick of stores and salesman ...stumbled across these speakers on a used deal and now my system sounds new ,exciting and enjoyable...recordings have new life...enjoyment is what audio is about (not analysis)and I am really enjoying these "not-quite -but-close-enough for the price perfect speakers" There are some remarkable speakers in all shape and sizes that can suit your needs, system and taste these are one of those. Good job Axiom!!! ....two things Canada can produce beer and speakers amongst other things ie.hockey .... Similar Products Used: Kef,Mission,Tannoy and some other unmentionable garbage |

After living with these little guys for six months I can only say they have got better with age. These speaker are truly the best bargain in audio. They do need a break in period so if you buy them don't give up on them to early. They are the best speakers I have heard at anything close to their price and beyond...BUY THESE SPEAKERS!!! Live with them for a while and you will be THRILLED. I promise. I still find it hard to believe they cost so little Similar Products Used: My other speakers cost $1,700 and are not as good...honest. |

Performance. Looks. Price.
Weakness:
None. I was looking to replace my JBL N-center ''cause I was having a shielding problem with it. Since I wanted to keep things timbre matched up front I got the M3''s to go with Axiom''s VP100 center. The M3''s are replacing JBL N24''s and there''s no comparison! Even my girlfriend (who could give a damn about such things) said that things sound "better" and "crisper". I was a little leary of buying speakers I hadn''t even heard over the ''net, but these speakers are well worth the money. Next time I buy speakers, I''m buying Axiom. PS I got these speakers from Axiom''s Factory Outlet and I can''t see a thing wrong with them Similar Products Used: JBL N24''s |

Strength:
The stereo imaging is out of this world (or at least out of the price range, and beats some speaker 2-5 times the price). The have a very nice balance, that little "je ne sais quoi" that sound sooo good and natural, leaving you feeling content after a nice listening period. Easy to position
Weakness:
Less presence and punch then bigger (and more expensive) sytems. I bought my pair just over a week ago now. The break-in period is not over now, but boy can they play! I''ve worked in and around sound gear for over 10 years now, and I can say that they were the WORST sounding out-of-the-box speaker I ever had. Even though I''m well used to breaking-in my audio equipment (everything from cable to transport to headphones), I was VERY disapointed. I really was wondering what the rave about hose was all about. But after just about 20-30 hours, they became airy, open, the highs became cleare and less harsh. The mids became more present. Everything becam MORE en joyable and pleasant: no listening fatigue WHATSOEVER! **** BREAK THEM IN!!! ***** It''s well worth the time! They now sound like VERY GOOD speakers. The imaging is UNBELIEVABLE: in stereo mode on my DENON amp, I often had to make sure the center speaker was turned OFF. Of course, it''s easy to compare them with the Paradigm Atom, B&W 303 or the Tannoy Mx2 (to my ear they beat them all) but I''d say that they even sound better than the Infinity IL10 (that cost up to 3 time more here in Canada) or even some floorstanding speakers. Of course they have less body or presence then big floorstanding, but they possess a certain quality, a little "je ne sais quoi" that I just love even more than what I heard from Tannoy or Infinity (which I worked often with and have become my reference point). So go ahed, give them a try. Event if your an avid audiophile with alot of ressources, they might surprise you! No, they won''t replace the big reference speaker(Rotel, Dunlavy, jmlabs, Totem or other) in your main listening room. But they might just fill the bill nicely in the bedroom, playroom, computer room, or another secondary listening area. I give them 5 stars ''cuz I''m pretty sure you cannot find better sounding speakers for that price (even DIY projects). Similar Products Used: Tannoy, Infinity, ... A long list of showroom testing of similar bookshelves speakers. |
