Strength:
Looks quite elegant. Fairly good bass.
Weakness:
Overbright top end. Glare in midrange. Even after supposed break in a fatiguing sound. Expensive. I have spent hours upon hours "breaking in" these speakers using really high end equipment. They still suffer from a "Glare" in the sound. The louder they are played the more srident they become. I am rather dissapointed to say the least, as other Manufactures recommend 24-48 hours to break in their products, and they sound less irritating. I have listened to Dynaudio products for example fresh out of the box and they are sweeter and smoother. The same goes for KEF and Mission. Similar Products Used: Naim, Cyrus, Linn. |

Strength:
These speakers have strong bass, great highs and mid ranges. Great stage imaging and home theater usage, I've never heard my jazz music reproduced like this. I'm 19 years old and this is my first stereo, after completing 7 months of research I have found that these are the best value and best sounding speaker in their class. I love the speakers and I have paired it with a new Integra DTR 7.2
Weakness:
None, infact the bass is getting better and better every time I use them. The bass is beautiful, its very tight and not boomy. Anyone who wants boomy does not know what good bass is. The cdm7 nt are a great speaker, at first I was thinking I had made a mistake since there was little bass and my friend commented on it, but in the week since I bought them its amazing how much bass they do have now, I no longer feel like I need to run out and buy a sub. My feelings on these speakers are that it requires a high quailty amplifier with good quality cables (I'm using MIT 10's). Anyone who says these dont have bass aren't playing music has good bass, just try the 8th track from the Fifth Element album. B&W is easily the best speaker, and it shows since they are #1 English speaker manufacturer and I can not recommend any other speaker as well. And I would like to plug the Integra DTR 7.2 as well, its an amazing value and amazing piece of machinery for $1200, anyone who wants a home theater receiver this one has everything. Similar Products Used: Tested: B&W: 603, CM4, CM2, CDM 7 SE (to bright! 7nt much better!), Pardaigm, Boston Accoustic (second best speakers very impressive actually). Overall no speaker sounds as good as B&W, the 600 series are great for those who love bass, and cm4 are a great value but are a little lacking interms of the highs in my opinon although I almost went with them I found the cdm7 nt which are a jump ahead in terms of the quality of the sound reproduced. |

Strength:
Clear highs, excellent imaging.
Weakness:
mid covered by the bass, which isn't enough. see below for details this "2 and a half way speaker" is what i hate. b&w should REALLY work on this speaker's crossover. Some stated that the highs are tiring. Well, it all depends on the amp that is used, and they DO need breaking-in, at least 200 hours of HIGH volume output. |

Imaging
Weakness:
None I have had Bose 901's since 1979 and I fully enjoyed them.(bose bashers please be nice) I now find that I really didn'tknow what good sound is. Imaging? Sound stage? Well now with these speakers in my home I, it's like a revelation. I come home and I have to turn on my system to just sit and listen. The sound keeps getting better and better everyday. The best purchase I have ever made, my wife even can hear the difference and didn't complain about the money. I have a small house with not many options for placement and I know that if I had the room these speakers would sound even better, but the way they sound now it is really hard to imagine. I also plan on upgrading to separates in the near future, which should also make a difference. Similar Products Used: cdm 1nt |

Strength:
Wonderful imaging and clarity. Biwiring improves them even more.
Weakness:
Just can't get used to the bass. I purchased these a couple of months ago to go with my new Arcam DVD and Arcam AV units. I also like to use the DVD player for CDs. The speakers are top notch and really give so much detail that i've never heard before. The only thing i'm a bit concerned about it the slight lack of bass, even in the small room they're in and placed almost against the wall. I'm hoping that they loosen up a bit with time, but in all other respects they're wonderful and worht every penny. Similar Products Used: Dynaudio |

Strength:
Unbelievable sound at a reasonable price!
Weakness:
Well, uh, let's see...Nothing! Look, I know these speakers don't cost as much as a mid-size car which appears to be the only standard by which most snobby so-called audiophiles look for when reviewing a speaker. This speaker sounds excellent in my home theater. They also sound spectacular as a plain-jane stereo pair. The sound is exceptionally smooth throughout the audio spectrum. I often get frustrated listening to other speakers that totally bomb in the lower mid-range. Don't make the mistake of mixing and matching with these speakers. Buy all the B&W's in this line for sound that is clean enough to eat from. Also, they look great. Many people comment to me how attractive they are in the room. My only complaint is the large size of the center channel but, that is just a asthetic preference. |

Strength:
wide soundstage, highs detailed and at the same time not harsh
Weakness:
definitly bass and overall "punch" actually i wanted to buy the nautilus 805 or 804. when i was at my dealer i did not like the 805 at all. And also the 804 lacked somthing. They just did not soound "full". The sounded both like tiny little speakers. At that time i owned a fisher audio Antheus (seldom 4-Way hybrid magnetostat, goes down to 16Hz!, >125Kg a piece). But i had to sell it because i moved from the country into an apartment in a city. Similar Products Used: Fischer Audio Antheus, 805, 804 |

Strength:
Clean detailed sound. No audible colouration. Lovely woodwork. Very musical.
Weakness:
Patience during break in period. I have read many reviews on this loudspeaker on various sites, all of them praising this model most highly. I was curious to say the least having owned a pair of DM7 for a number of years. I was surprised to see the famous Nautulus Tweeter sitting on top of this handsome looking speaker. |

Strength:
Wonderful imaging and depth. Crystal highs, detailed mids. Nice tight bass. Pretty to look at.
Weakness:
None at this price range. They were a long time coming in the veneer I wanted, but worth the wait! The first thing I noticed when playing my cd's was the superb imaging, they really grab you into the recording. Depth too is amazing when positioned correctly. Something also enclosed are foam plugs for the front and rear ports to fine tune the bass which no one here has mentioned. I found these most useful as I have to put my speakers near a coner. Each plug reduces the bass by 3db so I have a flat response in my room. Tonal quality to my ears is excellent, with a Champagne quality high end, and velvet smooth mids. The bass is surprisingly deep considering the driver sizes. Always tight and musical, these woofers never seem to get flustered. Styling is very appealing, and you can never fault the superb veneers on these. I can now see why Home Theatre Magazine gave these 97 out of 100. If you like your music to sound alive and exciting, look no further than this design! Similar Products Used: Cambridge Audio, Harmon Kardon, Luxman. |
