Strength:
Incredible clarity with that wonderful B & W smoothness, Rich bass
Weakness:
None! I had a pair of 602s2's and was very impressed with them after they broke in. I listened to the nautilus 804's, but didn't feel they veryp balanced from the top to the bottom. I ordered the CDM7nt's without seeing hearing them based on reviews on this website. All I can say is thanks guys. These speakers are scary accurate on home theater and they hold their own on music with the nautilus 804's (IMHO). I thought I should put a review on this sight since it has been so helpful to many of my audio video decisions. Similar Products Used: None that I know of |

Strength:
Pretty enclosures. Nice design. Good detail.
Weakness:
Far too harsh in high notes. Bass is shallow. Music is my living, so I was unsure about doing an electronics article. I saw this Loudspeaker was very popular here, but after reading the last review, I had to agree. I find the pair I own to be very bright sounding. I have complained to my dealer in London and was told it was for clarity. I really wished I had bought a pair of Loudspeakers from Switzerland now, that sounded so much easier on my ears. The low notes are good, and there is a nice space in the sound surrounding the instruments. Overall though, I am rather dissapointed in my purchase. |

I recently bought the B&W CDM7 NT's for use in my secondary system (my primary system features the B&W Nautilus 804's), and I've found them to be excellent speakers for the price. They sound NOTHING like the CDM7 SE's. I listened to the SE's when I bought my 804's and thought they sounded terrible--very boxed in, with a boomy, distorted bass. The new NT's by contrast sound very open, airy, and natural. The bass is rich, but not boomy. The new Nautilus-based tweeter is wonderful. When I went into the store I was sure that I would end up buying the ProAc Studio 125's because I had listened to them before and was impressed by them. The NT's, however, were clearly superior in all respects. They had a more open, clearer, richer, more musical sound. The ProAc's were very tight, but the highs did not soar as in the NT's, the midrange was not as smooth, and the bass was not as rich and deep. Are the NT's as good as the 804's? Absolutely not. The 804's are much more refined, with superior clarity, definition, transparency, and musicality. Nonetheless, for $1500 less, the NT's are a great buy |

Strength:
Value, imaging, bass.
Weakness:
A touch grainy on the highs I am really excited by these new B&W speakers. They absolutely disappear and image like bandits. Bass is good and tight. Presently, the high frequencies are a touch grainy, but I think this will improve with break-in and cabling. |

Strength:
easy to drive, excellent tweeter, well dispersed mids
Weakness:
low frequencies sometimes can be little booming but they do include difussers when purchased one of the most excellent speakers in the market for the price but it can be a little booming for R&B music at times but like i said..they do come with diffusers at the time of purchase. Strength:
Presents a good sound stage, and has that undefinable B&W sound
Weakness:
Not quite as tranparent as the nautlis range, The tweeter is a little bright and loose, especially when the music goes real high This new budget range from B&W offers some really good sound for those looking to have a full range speaker with-out shelling out 3000+. However, what you pay for is a little lacking in overall definition and clarity compared to more expensive speakers. The midrenge is classic B&W with a little less class than their Nautlis lines. All in all a very good speaker for the money. And I warn those reading these reviews that many audiophiles will rate this product and other B&W lines low beacuse they have it in thier heads that any popular product can not be "HI-fi". This is absolute hogwash. Pair these speakers up with Bryston or Sim Audio and you have something very close to a very good system. Similar Products Used: Thiel, dynaaudio, Revel, JM lab utopia,s. Strength:
Clear sound, great range, great looks...
Weakness:
Haven't found one yet! It's been a couple of months since I first hooked up my 7NT's and I have to say that I LOVE THEM! The sound is clear and well defined and have a great range from the highs to the lows. I auditioned Definitive Technologies, Phase Technologies, Paradigms and the B&W's. Obviously, B&W won. On top of their stunning sound, they have a very aesthetic design that impressed me at first sight. I really didn't want another pair of black rectangles the room. |

Sound quality and Looks in Red Cherry (Real Wood) WOW was this ever a great pleasure even when I first plugged them in...I spend every dollar as wisely as possible, to get as much "bang for the buck" as I can afford. I listened to Boston Accoustics(close second), Polk, Infinity, Definitive Technology, Mirage, Bose, Klipsch etc. and found that the B&W line gave me the most sound for the money. Now that I have played them for a month ever louder the movie 5.1 digital playback is exceptional especially the latest movies produced in digital. I play music in stereo from Mozart to Metalica, Bach to BB King or Ravel to Rush and the new CDM-NT's sound GREAT. The classical music especially sounds as though the players are in the room with me and the organ solo's allow you to believe why the organ is called the king of the instruments. |

Strength:
Seperate Tube tweeter gives great sound field and imaging plane. Nice look and great crossover seperation
Weakness:
Small woofer (6.5in) gives 40hz response but not very loud. Should invest in a woofer that hits as low as 25hz for movie theater experience Excellent example of speaker technology. B&W has done all it could to make the speaker accurate and CHEAP. yes I believe $2000 US is cheap. For a speaker such as this one could claim that they have the main speakers set. Although a stereophile is satisfied... My dark Videophile side demands more bass response. That 30hz rumble of doom in almost all action fills or that needed bump in the night in the romantic comidies is missing from this speaker. But that is not the speakers fault, for it was not designed to do that. So I suggest going out and purchasing a good woofer. The best part is that woofers need not cost more than 1/3 the price of your speakers. Similar Products Used: B&W 604s2, 603s2, 602. Pardigmn Reference. Mirage M9, M7, M5, PSB, Revel. |
