Strength:

Transparency, Midrange, Transient Response and Price

Weakness:

A bit Bright at the top end.

Used stands and parterned with a passive Sub Woofer along with a custom designed crossover. Response is good and goes pretty low.
Very pleased with the presentation and dynamic range of the overall set up.

Strength:

Great speaker!! When put on 24" speaker stands the soundstage and imaging rivals that of speakers in the $500-$1000 range.

Weakness:

None.

Great midrange clarity. Unmistakably, good value for the money.

Strength:

Can't beat the value for the price

Weakness:

Hey, it's only a $250 speaker

This is THE $250 speaker, the only comparison I made was to the NHT Super Zeros. The B&W blew them away in bass response, but otherwise, they were close. I love these speakers and for $250, you can't go wrong

Strength:

Everything

Weakness:

They didn't come with a 12-pack of beer

No need to go into details as a ton of others already have. I've got a pair with a Velodyne CT80 sub and Harman Kardon receiver and it sounds awesome. These are perfect for apartments and smaller rooms.

The only thing that really sucks about these is that they aren't sold anywhere online and its very hard for some people to get them since there aren't many places that sell them.

Sound, value

Weakness:

None that I have noticed...

What an amazing speaker. A friend (brother-in-law actually)
recommended them and, after auditioning them, I had to
have them. They may be lacking in the low-ranges somewhat,
but with a sub a sub to pick them up, they sound amazing.
Clear soundstage and great imaging. For the price, I don't
think they can be beat.

Strength:

Very nice sounding speaker for the money

Weakness:

Weak bass, but no big deal when used with a powered sub

I heard these when accompanying a friend who was purchasing his first home theater. Originally he was interested in Bose, but I convinced him to give other brands a listen. He would up purchasing a b&w solution for less money (and much better sound) than he had been prepared to spend on Bose.

Well, well, well, for the money these B&W's are simply fantastic. I had auditioned other speakers like the bipolar Mirage, ADS, Paradigm and Mission (unfortunately I wasn't able to audition the Mission's in a listening room-thank you A&B sound for the warehouse atmosphere!) before choosing the 302's. I have to say, I was amazed at the 302's clarity and imaging ability. Of course the bass response isn't what I would like, but heh, my Visa balance wasn't complaining at the purchase of the 302's. So all and all, if you are looking for a great deal, and some excellent sounding speakers at a great price, go B&W 302. (Definitely purchase some speaker stands and start saving for a sub, even with all of that, you will have spent less and got much more sound than you thought possible).

Before I bought the B&W DM302, I had listened to quite a lot of budget bookself speakers including KEF coda8 and Q15, Paradigm Titan, Energy Pro2.5, Mission 731, PSB Alpha mini, Polk RT3, Boston CR7, Tannoy D10 and M2, NHT Superzero. I am not saying that the DM302 beats all other brands' budget speakers, but I just feel comfortable when hearing this little speaker. The DM302 pouduces pretty good high which would not hurt your ears like other budget speakers. Although the bass is not super deep, it has good extention. The mid-band is the best among the speakers I stated above (B&W speakers always produce excellent mid-band). It is sweet, smooth and tend to be warm and "moisture." When you listen to vocal, you can almost "see" the preformer standing in front of you. The balance is very good. The overall image is solid, and soundstage is very open to a bookself speaker. No matter what kinds of music you prefer, the DM302 must please you. Moreover, its sensitive is rated at 91dB, it means that it would go loud even if the amplifier volume level is low.
I have said lots of good things about the DM302, but I don't mean that the DM302 does not have any downside. Since it is a pair of budget bookself speakers, it lacks of powerful dynamic when you listen to some classics pieces. It does not sound good when it is operated at very high volume.
Considering the price, the DM302 is about 140 pounds/pair in England; it is $250/pair here. The exchange rate is just fair. Considering the value, what better speakers can you buy at $250? If you are thinking of buying a pair of budget bookself speakers, do remember to try the B&W DM302.
No doubt about it, the DM302 is an absolute 5-star speaker according to sound quality and money. Of course, you can buy better sound speakers when you pay more.

I love em. I hooked these puppies up in my home office mounted on wall brackets. They are very musical and pleasing to listen to. A great buy!
