Strength:

transparency, price

I was looking at Paradigm’s, Energy’s and Mirage’s when I happened upon some good B&W advice at a local audio store. I got 4 302’s and a CC3 for a fair price of $600. The 302 is a fine loudspeaker every respect, but when the price is considered, the adjective changes to “exceptional”. They impressed me with their largeness, coherent soundstage, ability to reveal, and their near transparency. They are well made and come out of the box ready to work. A good five-year warranty gives me the confidence to work them hard. The front port makes them a great bookshelf unit.

Strength:

Full sound, great mids

Weakness:

little weak on the bass, sound better with quality stands

These are my first real speakers, and I enjoy them very much. I was looking for a cheap, good quality speaker, and I testes many in the $200-$350 range. These included Polk, JBL, and Boston Acustics, but they could not compare to the 302's. They lacked the full sound, and rich mids these speakers provied. Right now they are hooked up to an older Onkyo reciever, with no subwoofer, and I still love the sound. Even playing my DVD's they sound awesome!!
If you want a good quality speaker for a great price, you cannot go wrong with the 302's. One other thing. The set up to these speakers is crucial. Get rigid stands, 22-26 inches high, and give them some room between the walls. You'll experiment, and eventually find the perfect set-up for your room. Then you'll hear real sound.

At first, I was listening to the NHT SuperOnes, which I thought were fantastic! It was sweet in the highs, and the tight deep bass. Then I moved to the BMW 302, and straight away, I was impressed. It wins hands down in the midrange area, where the NHTs do not tread near. All I can say about this little speaker that is sitting in my room right now is: Buy It!!!

The B&W 302's are a perfect speaker for the money. I paid just 230$ new for the pair. The sound is well balanced, with a little bass punch. Clarity and mids are outstanding for the low price. I'm only driving them with 20watts per channel and they sound loud and clear. If you have little money (like me) the 302's are a great speaker. They can't be beat for the price. I rate them a 5 because of their amazing value. For sound they don't deserve a perfect five, but most average shmucks like me can't afford 2K for eargasm, causing speakers. For the price :)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Strength:

Image well, smooth, got some depth. They're a bargain.

Weakness:

Can't be driven to loudly. (Whattya want for $250.00)

These speakers are just plain fun to own.
Budding audio nuts can be saved from their first Bose
purchase if they just give these a listen.
Sound and size are just right.

Strength:

Good sound for the money, heck good sound period.

Weakness:

None considering the size of the speakers

These replaced my N28s(about the worst speaker I have owned) and I LOVE them. Dont let anyone kid you, these are a BEST buy. Clean balanced sound, and extreme clarity. They are used in a HT sound system With Onkyo DS 484, JBL N center, JBL PB10 sub, and some crappy KLH surround speakers. Comparing the money invested in this system to the overall sound, I think these are second to none.

Strength:

Neutrality, Soundstage, Detail

Weakness:

Lack of low frequency extension

On my first brief and casual listening session in the showroom, these speakers were not super impressive. But after trying out every bookshelf I could get my hands on I brought them home for an audition.

All I can say is WOW! These speakers trully impressed, both on my home reference & office system. At home I never found myself wanting to go back to my reference speakers, although there were limitations (see below). I almost regretted having to take them to the office (their final resting place).

Imaging was top-notch, I can't believe that all this sound comes from a speaker so small. There appears to be almost no tonal coloration at all - these speakers are truly neutral. The midrange is wonderfully rendered and seamless integrated with the rest of the audible range. High frequecies are extended with excellent detail without any harshenss.

The only limitation is the lack of low frequency extension which is to be expected with a speaker such as this. There are also limits to how loud it can play (it plays plenty loud for me) but given that the B&W dm302 does everthing else right, this is easily forgiven.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Strength:

Everything, I even think the styling is pretty nice also.

Weakness:

Nothing, unless you want a big clunky speaker set.

I think this product is great for first time speaker buyers or for someone who wants some good quality spaekers for an entertainment system in a small room. The DM 302's sound is incredible for coming out of that little speaker.

Strength:

Clean and balanced sound, good price,

Weakness:

little bit weak in bass

I bought this pair of speakers actually for surround (rear speakers). But I realized that they can serve very good also like a speakers for listening.
For now I listen them in stero system with:
Audio Thule amplifier I.A. 60
CD player Marantz SE 63
interconnect cable QED QNNCT 2
speaker cable QED silver
I can say that this speakers are great product for this money. I paid 140$. Very good price in comparing with USA prices.
I like the sound which they produce, clean, powerfull and balanced. I miss only a little bit more bass but for this little speakers and this price I forgive this lack very easy.
Like i said I will use them for rear speakers if they will tonaly fit in my speaker system. With Acoustic Research S50 and SC 2 and sub Magnat Omega 300.

My hi-fi speakers are Mission 752 which are used only for hi-fi.
I recommend B&W DM 302 to those people which they have limited budget or simple they just don't want spent more money for speakers.
For this money they will get a lot.

Strength:

Very musical, very satisfying for what they're designed for.

Weakness:

Hardly any, considering its size and price tag.

I bought a pait for my HT set up for the rear surround channels.

A couple days later, I bought another pairs for my bed room.

Then, yet one more pairs for my SOHO. :-)

*Please read my reviews on this site for the B&W 603 S2, and NAD T-760 receiver for more.

THE BEST sub $500USD speakers on the market right now!
