Strength:
Well integrated, highs are similar to older Matrix 802 IIIs. Bass response grows with break-in.
Weakness:
Maybe one spending $1600 would like a bit more bass, but as you get into this league and on up, full range carries with it a through the ceiling price tag. The Paradigm reference-100 may have been an idea, but though lacking bass, these sound better. And besides, thats what my ASW-3000 is for! I bought these for a number of reasons. The 1st being the need for a well integrated 3-way speaker with decent bass reaponse (45Hz and below) to fill the stereo requirements of an HT setup. The 2nd, is that while I liked the CDM-7SE, I found the 2-1/2 way design to choke the mid-range somewhat and not to mention that the "bass-only driver" carried way to much of a demand at higher volumes. They where the perfect price/performance speaker in B&Ws line within my price range. I should mention, they do sound great! I was moving up from Infinity RS-2000.2s so, there was quite a difference! I have owned these for 8 months now, and Have liked everything about them. Similar Products Used: Nautilus 801, 802, 803, CDM-9NT, Revel Ultima salon, Performa F-30, Paradigm reference-100. |

Strength:
Voices, clearity, great for home theater.
Weakness:
Your arms will fall of, if you have carry them to long. This really is a great speaker both for stereo and Home Theater. And the price, only $530 a pice in Denmark. Similar Products Used: B&W DM605S2 |

Strength:
can play loud
Weakness:
doesn't have the kind of natural sound that I was looking for...sound too forward when turning up the volume Well, I just went to audition B&W 604s2 this afternoon. And I am not really impressive with the sound it produces. I thought $1600 should provide a better image and soundstage, but 604s2 just doesn't seems to have that. Yes, it can play loud without distortion, but I find the speaker sound a little forward when turning up the volume. I've also auditioned B&W CDM7nt, it has a more natural sound than 604s2. I don't really find the Nautilus tweeter which everybody was raving about too impressive, but it does sound fine to me. In overall, I was more impressive on CDM7NT than 604s2. (I know CDM7nt cost $500 more, but it's worthy, especially if you plan to hold the speaker for a long time) |

Strength:
Sound stage, clarity, price, quality, reputation, and shipping carton.
Weakness:
The lack of reviews on the b&w website.....that's it! The sound is amazing, and real. It is not too bright, and performs better than any of the other speakers in and above its price range. It is great for both music and movies. I drove them hard with my Yamaha receiver and they sounded and handled it beautifully. I have all B&W speakers, and anyone who hears them knows why! |

boommmmy bass, muddyyyyy mid, cheap build, overpriced I babysat these 604s for my friend while he was on holiday and had a chance listen to them for a few weeks. What a rip off for people paying $1600 for these speakers. I don't understand how many people in this forum go crazy over these B&W. They were worse than the NHT 2.5 which have lower retail price and blown away by Dynaudio's speakers. If you must have B&W speakers, go for the CDM1SEs or Nautilus series, otherwise there are lot of speakers out there that are better than these craps and at much lower price. Strength:
Price, bi-wire and sound. I know it's a bit early to tell, it hasn't been playng a 100 hours yet, but i couldn't wait.
Weakness:
No It has been everything I've hoped for and more, and still they are going to be better when they are used 100+ hours. It can match the Cerwin Vega's one bass and cant be compared above that, it's another world. I use them both to home cineama and stereo and they handle both superb. To they guy that wrote before me I would just say: Who do you think is right you, ore everybody that has written here? It might be the amplifier, cables, plasement and so on. Similar Products Used: Not realy, had Cerwin Vega VS-12 before and it's a totally different speaker. |

None A couple of month ago I went to buy some new speakers. I like rock, dance, techno and that kind of music. My local dealer showed me: Cerwin-Vega LS-15, Dali Evidence 870, Jamo X3M 10 and finally B&W DM604S2. Similar Products Used: Dali Diva. |
