Lack of bass Just heard them at a store in Montreal. Amazing soundstage. They really disepear. The Nautilus tweeter is doing a veru good job. Crisp and clear highs, great mids. Great for classical and jazz music type. Similar Products Used: Totem: Forest, Sttaf, Model One, Mani-2 |

Strength:
precise sound, good image and nice finish
Weakness:
lack of detail, sound could be too polite I borrowed this speaker from my friend for 1 month while he went to holiday. After i auditioned, I found it sound just ok. No special that make me want to change the current speaker(kef), it's lack detial of my kef, kef got much better dynamic, speed and sound stage sound. Finaly I quite disappoint about this speaker, can't beleive it this is class a speaker. Similar Products Used: Kef reference model 4 |

Strength:
Detail, slam,3-d imaging.
Weakness:
None observed as of yet-Some could complain about the price. I loved my old Mirage M3si's, except I wanted a little more forwardness in the vocals. I searched hi and low for a replacemant, and finally settled on the natural cherry 803. These gave me more detail, excellent midrang and lifelike vocals that sounds as if your are in the 3rd row. Strength:
Detail, warmth, dynamics. Rich, involving physical sound.
Weakness:
Sensitive to rest of equipment I just wanted to swtress to people how HUGE a difference the rest of the system makes when played through these speakers. I've had mine for about a year, and have done a lot of swapping of componants upstream in that time. I've gone trough lots of different componants, and the difference is between thinking the speakers are weak to thinking they're great. Cables especially have had this effect. Currently I have Wadia 850 CD player running directly into a Classa 200W amp, Monster Sigma Retro interconnects and speaker cables and a Richard Gray's Power Company power conditioner. The speakers continue to surprise me. When I first got them, I liked them but found them a little bright, too sharp in high frequencies. That is gone, but clearly some othewise very good interconnects, for example, sounded bad - Kimber Cables silver were much too bright ... like someone drilling in my eardrums with needles. The Sigma Retros, on the other hand, are detailed and extended but still smooth and pretty sounding. The newest addition, the Sigma Retro speaker cables, brough high-frequencies more extended that I thought possible and more detail than I knew existed on a CD. On a good recording ... Chesky Record's Ana Caram CD, with lots of exotic latin percussion, its clear and beautiful. Chimes just ring of into infinity, as clear as bells ... its not just nice sounding music, but like having a group of musicians sitting in my liviing room. I can hear them put their instruments in their laps when they finish playing a part ... on a live jazz tio recording (Kevin Eubanks Live At Bradleys) I can hear the bass player's breathing get heavy towards the end his solo. Incredible. Similar Products Used: Auditioned Revel M-20, N804, N802, Theils |
