Just purchased a pair of these from shop4.com for $152.49. I thought it was a misprint. When I clicked on the page, it said they were selling them for $276.86 a pair, but when I ordered them, the $152 price came up. I don't know how they can sell these speakers that list at $598/pair for so low, but I'll take it. A friend of mine has them and they are great for the price. Can't wait to try them. I give them 5 stars for value.

I'VE HAD THESE SPEAKERS FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS. AT FIRST I DID NOT HAVE A SUB BUT AFTER LISTENING TO THEM FOR ABOUT THREE MONTHS I DECIDED FOR MY TASTE THEY NEEDED A LITTLE HELP FILLING IN THE LOW END MAINLY AT LOW LISTENING LEVELS. SO I BOUGHT A VERY INEXPENSIVE 10" RCA SUB FROM RADIO SHACK $150.00 AND WITH A LITTLE POLY FILL WAS ABLE TAME IT TO MY TASTE WHICH WORKED NICELY. THESE SPEAKERS WHEN PLACED PROPERLY VOCALS SOUND LIKE THEY ARE COMING FROM THE CENTER CHANNEL SPEAKER. I RECENTLY ELEVATED THE FRONT OF THE SPEAKERS SLIGHTLY IT GAVE THEM THE AMBIEANCE I THOUGHT THEY WERE MISSING IN MY LISTENING AREA 17 X 17 LIVING ROOM WITH RECESSED CELING. Nice look and great sound

Too brightness

I have these DV-736 Tower speakers for a couple of weeks. I love the out look. I have noticed the brightness is too stronge. I open the back plate and replace the 2.7uF/100V High Pass filter Cap to 1.5uF/100V(I also try 1uF to 2uF Cap, $1). Now, it seens I got balance sound. And I got more Bass after the mod. I use Technics DA-SA10N receiver ($199/Fry's) with double fans on the back for cooling(orginal design problem). For the money spent, I believe BIC is the best choice. I recomend these for anyone wanting great sound for cheap. I email BIC, they told me that any mod is out of their 7 years warrenty. But, after the mod, they can compete with my brother's Energy Tower speakers ($1000). If you want to make it even better, go to speakerbuilding.com. They'll tell you how.

I have only had these speakers for a couple of weeks but I love them. I have noticed the brightness a little at times but it doesnt get on my nerves. They sound great running with my CLR62 center. These speakers can belt it out. For the money spent, I believe BIC is the best going. I recomend these for anyone wanting great sound for cheap. I dont know how they do it, but I hope they keep it up. Thanks BIC.

Excellent sound for both music (stereo) and movies (5.1 and DTS). The excellent construction was a surprise and they just happen to match my sub. I agree with some of the previous posts re: tight bass and clear crisp highs.

This review is for the BIC V736 Speakers. For my AV system these speakers have been a great surprise. Was concerned when buying without listening as it is one of my hobbies but time and money dictated taking a chance. Great Luck...These speakers produce great in the mids and high lows although a bit weak in the highs. Being for AV use with JVC 9000 Receiver they work great for big theater sound. For stereo use they miss a little in the high end and my subwoofer fills any gaps down low. I truly think this is a great value speaker for the dollars. U Bid performed admirably also when measured against other raters reviews.

this is the best $250 i spend so far in my life.
i got this speaker $84 each plus $40 shipping. it is a steal in this price as the sound they make. if you are looking for a pair of speakers under 400 and has nice detail sound and very good bass performance, this is it!

i use denon 1801 with all bic speakers and i find out the overall performance is better than my friend's onkyo+infinity system. the total cost of my speakers is only 1/2 of my friend's infinity and you got better sound!

the best part start to show up when you using bic dv62clr center channel with v736 front speakers. it create a very powerful yet very detail and seamless surrunding effect.

i truly recommand the speaker to any one who has tight budget but good musical heart!!

I posted a review back in April about these speakers, but since i got screwed out of the 2nd speaker by Ubid I never really got to hear them as a pair. It seems Ubid advertised they had 3 sets of speakers but really only gotten 3 speakers. Finally I was forced to return the speaker that I received because Ubid said they would not be shipping another speaker. They were rude and not willing to give me a break for me to find one more speaker and for them to pay for it. I returned the speaker to them around 4/12/00 and STILL have not received credit from them on my charge card. THUMBS DOWN TO UBID.COM. Don't buy from them unless you want trouble. Unhelpful or rude customer support. Useless management who will not even call back customers. The Better Business Bureau will be hearing about this. Anyone know of a website i can post this info on Ubid on? Email me at the above address.

Clean, solid bass and treble response.

As with other reviewers, none for the speakers. UBID however, is another story. This has been a nightmare.

This speaker handles both music and videos extremely well. Especially for the price. The Matrix sounds amazing!!! I use them with a BIC DV62CLR center and Infinity RS2 surrounds. These are fed by an Onkyo TX-DS575. Absolutely no complaints about the products.

I have however been battling uBid for over 2 months over the "1 speaker" issue. Numerous promises - none fulfilled. I WILL be writing the BBB once I finally get this resolved. Great products, great prices (expensive shipping)..... horrible customer service. Be careful! Nuf' said.
