Strength:
treble detail
Weakness:
slight midrange harshness these are ironically the best speakers i've heard and i only paid 50 dollars for the pair at ubid.com.in my opinion these are better than boston acoustics(i own micro 9000 system),b and w302's,def techs that ive heard etc.these speakers where not as clean sounding as any of the aforementioned speakers but brought the music to life.the tweeter is exellent on these speakers and has more detail than even the boston acoustics althogh not the smoothness or wide dipersion.these speakers seem very well made.notes:these speakers have a power rating of 75 watts.i wouldnt go to much above it although these speakers seem so sturdy it may not matter.these speakers sound best when your in a listening position(in front or in beetween the speakers-they can sound slightly harsh in the treble if your DIRECTLY to the side(an unusual position),also they sound theyre best at ear level.the midrange does have a slight harshness that could conceivably with some setup become fatguing but the REALISM of these speakers has me LISTENING to them more than any other speakers i own or have heard.notes:the bass is a bit weak(most of it being supplied by the rear vent),but if your a bass fanatic you could buy a bic sub (i bought one subsequently and love it). At the retail price of i think 200 dollars these are still a bargain.two amps that match the power rating of these speakers and have been well reviewed are the denon avr275 and avr375. An excellent pair of nice warm sounding bookshelf speakers for their size and price! I enjoyed them throughly. My only compliant is that I did get some listening fatigue. Otherwise, these speakers aren't perfect, but they are excellent! |

Strength:
Letting Ed Frias tweak your crossovers, after that Great sounding speaker
Weakness:
Not letting Ed Frias tweak your crossovers I have 4 Dv 52 si.Which I have setup with a ClR 32 center & a 1010R subwoofer. Upon first listening to this setup it was great for home theater but , was lacking in the music dept. The sound was bright & harsh & was lacking some midrange . After I reading the reviews on this site(BIC VENTURI). I decided to send my crossovers to Ed Frias.I am so glad I did. After reading the reviews I knew that I would be reciving a better speaker back but, what I got back was a amazing speaker. The vocals now have great depth. The brightest & harshest have disappeared. The sound is so clean, you will would not believe the diffence. You could spend alot more money & be hard pressed to get a better set of speakers. It a good speaker before Ed Frias but,a great speaker afterwards. It get a 10. |

Strength:
Small size, crisp mid range, acceptable highs
Weakness:
little or no bass Got them for 64 buck each landed from U-Bid. Nice size, but I had to put them ontop of the JBL-151's to make up for the lack of bass. I do not want to rattle the windows, but it is nice to know there is a drum in there somewhere. I could hook up a sub woofer, that might do it, and sell the TLX-151's, but who would want them? If they made it with an 8 inch or 10 inch woofer they would have a great speaker, like the Wharfdale. Similar Products Used: ARC 30, TLX-121, TLX-151, Wharfdale MFM-1 |

Strength:
best value speaker I know of. As James below said, a great company. You can talk directly to the engineer that designs these.
Weakness:
none for the price I use these speakers as surrounds and they sound great for that purpose. I suppose they would probably sound good as mains with a good sub. It would be hard to find a speaker that sounds as good as these for the price. You can often find people selling these on Ebay for under $100.00 pair. It's too bad BIC is not a popular speaker company. Then again, it sounds like they spend their money on building great speaker systems and not on advertising. Highly recommended! |

Strength:
nice cabinets, warm highs, nice mids
Weakness:
very low bass, but that should be expected for their size i recently got this set of speakers for 52.00 A PAIR. i said what the heck and hooked them up in place of my front speakers ( a set of rs-4 )and WOW. i do have a sub so that made a big difference but the highs and mids were just as nice as the rs-4's. |

none This review is for the bic venturi wooden speakers, not the addato indoor outdoors.I bid on the addatos, but u-bid sent the venturis for a substitute, boy am I glad they did. I bought the jbl n24's about two months ago and am very sorry I did. I hooked up the two addatos I had in the closet and they were much better sounding.Well to make a long story short the venturis are by far the best speaker I have heard yet.I have the klipsch quintets and they don't even come close, especially in music.I got both speakers for 34 dollars+ s.h. imaging/soundstage,good reproduction of vocals,
Weakness:
limited bass (actually nice for cabinet size), Some confusion on this post. The speaker i am commenting on is NOT the Adatto/outdoor model. I bid on the Adatto and recieved the little bookshelf speaker. Like the other reviewer, I am glad they sent the wron speaker. These little guys are great. For $12 a piece + shipping they are the bomb. They image nicely and have a very nic overall sound. i'm sure the NHT super Ones, Paradigm Mini monitors, Aegis 1s , etc. smoke em. But for $12- they are the ----!! Have not heard the centerchannel, but would say 4 of these, the centerchannel and 2 8" powered subs (one on the fronts-one on the rears) in a DD theater would be a smokin little sub $1000 HT. 5 stars for tops in sub $200 class. A worthy competitor might be the pardigm Titans (have not A/B them). Similar Products Used: Alon I, |
